As ms350z wrote, the biggest issue with the Miata is from insecure young guys.

Another car to look at if you just want a toy would be a 3rd gen RX7. If you look around you can occasionally find a stock RX that hasn't been abused. That is a very fun car.
I wish. On my list definitely, but hard to find one that hasn't been destroyed by an idiot these days.

Not necessarily. I love the old British roadsters, and the Miata follows that philosophy. S2k is a little more 'grown up' if you will. However, seeing what early (pre-'04) S2ks are going for, I'll put them on the list. If I get one, I want the earlier one with the 2.0l, not the 2.2. Kinda softened it (driven both).

What was the rush on selling it since you don't even know what you exactly want yet?

I was about to store it for the winter again. Had her for 3 1/2 years, time to move on. Why do I need to have to know exactly what my next choice will be before I sell it? I think it's more fun this way. Kinda waiting to see where the car gods take me. Something will come along that will just feel 'right'. When it does, I'll know it.

Hell, I wasn't even looking to purchase when I first bought my Z. I was just out test driving cars for the hell of it one nice spring Saturday. I'll do this maybe once or twice a year, nice way to spend an afternoon. But as soon as I drove the Z, I knew it was the car for me. Same thing happened with my Integra before that. I like stumbling across cars. It's like a girlfriend. You never know when you're going to meet your next one.

Definitely test drive the S2k. It doesn't have the torque that the Z has, but like the RX7, it is really fun to drive when the rpms get in the mid to upper range. The handling is great as well.

Oh, I have driven the S2k before. Both the 2.0l and the 2.2l. Fun cars. Almost bought one before I got the Z, but didn't want a DD convertible.

said goodbye to mine last week. gave my daily to my sister who was in need of a car. with winter approaching it didn't make sense to beat the Z up driving it through the rain all season. plus, i do enjoy a little extra space.

replaced her with an S60R.
