Did a post search but came up empty- (probably my error, if so please don't flame me)
Yesterday driving in stop and go traffic in "manual automatic" mode my RPM gauge needle stuck at 2700. I then ran the RPM's up to about 3500, the needle moved up there (sluggisgly) and when I let off the gas it stuck at around 2200. It did this a couple of times but then seemed to go back to normal. Anyone else have this happen, and should I be worried about it? (Only have 5,000 miles on the beast)-
TIA-

dang this happened to me yesterday.. its got stuck at about 2600.. i reved and everything and i didnt go down.. so i downshifted and stuff and later it went down. it was like that for 5 minutes.. it was weird!
I remember on some forum a couple of months ago seeing a problem like this with either the RPM's or the speedo.
Happened only with the roadster and several people reached the conclusion that it was caused by the sun coming in over the back of the car and shining directly on the instruments. They were guessing that there were some optics in there effected by the sun.
Sooooo... check it out, if it only happens when the sun is coming from behind and shining on the dash, you might have discovered the culprit.
As to what to do about it----- damfino.

Add me to the list. Sunday, out for a drive along the Delaware going about 40 (2500 RPM'S) looked down and tach was "stuck", downshifted, hammered it ...nothing. was stuck for 30 minutes. I'm thinking have to see the dealership (sh#t). Then just as fast as is stoped working...it started working again and has been fine since............beats me.

I can't see how it could happen to coupes, though.
I've never had it happen - and here in Arizona - the days sometimes reach 110 or higher ( heat inside locked car has to be a BIT higher !! ) Have parked in the sun MANY times - including some days at work.
