Aside from my oil-burning woes, I've had nary an issue with my Z after 72k hard miles. I can't complain!

19050 miles on my 08 Base. Only problem was what I thought was a noisy TO bearing and a rattle from the trans at idle. Even though the trans worked fine the dealership replaced the entire transmission under warranty around 12k.

08 here. 16k tire feathering and an annoying *** rattle from the reverse mirror. Cant think of anything else wrong.

My 08 enthusiast (11,000 miles) has had zero issues. My cousin's 08 base (14,000 miles) goes into Nissan monthly to get something fixed. Everything from hatch rattles to having his gearbox changed out.

My 08 had to get a brake alignment 480 mi because they were squeaking. Other than that no other problems so far.

my (still stock) 08 has had zero problems and has 34000 miles. Just a 15K and 30K service done on it and tires 4k back.

2004, 2006 and 2008 owners agree with the reliability data.
2003, 2005 and 2007 owners disagree.
Funny how that works.

Good find davidv
The data is weighted so that the 2003 is NOT penalised for being 6 years old, and the 2008 is NOT rewarded because it is new. In fact the 2008 is penalised (numerically) because it is new.

Although dealing with oil consumption is not fun, the engines are still running. That's the determination of reliability. Does the engine run when you turn the car on?

08 base, at 14.5k my transmission was sounding like a supercharger...lol the dealer replaced it under warranty. and there is something in the hatch starting to rattle. but since the new trans, all is good

2008 Enthusiast with 19,668 miles. Not one single reliability problem. I did have both window motors replaced under warranty a few weeks ago though... my '07 had the same problem with my driver side window. Wish Nissan would just put in better ones! Engine is flawless though

My Base 08 just turned 42K, picked it up in november 2008. So about 21K each year so far. Minor problems thus far - the window motors were replaced after the left one started acting up, and the fuel tank internals swapped out, now my DTE gauge is a little more acurate, I think. After filling up and driving a few miles DTE goes up to 400, it used to only go up to 325. No other problems thus far...........

Finally, some useful information. I've had no issues with my 06... Knock on wood.

"I can pretty much guarantee that it won't look that red next year."

I don't see where time would make a difference. The rating system used compares the cars to "average". A car that starts out much better than average is likely to continue to be much better than average as it ages.

I've had no issues at all with my '08.
