Default Ouch!

I financed my Maxima thru NMAC...
why not just mail them in??

You're correct, one would think they could have an ONLINE option available.

(My Z loan is thru a local bank... they beat the NMAC rate this summer.)

Agreed! I HATE mailing stuff. I don't have any freakin stamps, much less envelopes. All my bills are online except for the damn Z! I called NMAC last week to sign up for the auto-grab money out of my account every month thingy. But you have to sign up for that crap in the mail too! Oh well. Better than calling it in every month. Oh yeah! Another Gripe. The only credit card they take is Discover?!?!?! What the hell is that about? I wanted to use my AMEX to get Skymiles..... but nooooooo. Who freakin uses Discover?!?! Ok.... done ranting.

I have the option of electronic bill pay through my bank, but I would forget to pay it LoL However, there IS a monthly fee for Online Bill Pay thru my bank (U.S. Bank)...but it's only $4.95/mo.

I just have NMAC ****** it out of my bank account every month.

Since NMAC charges for telephone transactions, if they have online transactions they most likely would charge for that as well because they probably use the SpeedPay service or whatever, like Sprint and my electric company does. They ususally charge more for check transations than credit cards.

I pay NMAC by check. I'm not lazy and it only costs $.37 for a stamp.

I like any card that gives you something for using it (for Discover, it is the Cashback Bonus Awards).

I have some cards that don't give me anything, so I try not to use those.

So send it by certified mail or delivery confirmation if you're that worried about it. Doesn't cost much.

Certified mail = $8

Delivery COnfirmation just gives you an option of seeing when it was delivered... No guarentee its gonna get there...

I mail mine from work. Our office assistant puts the postage on it and sends it out. NMAC is really good about things, in my experience. I got one check out late, after the 21st due date in fact. Called and explained, and they said something about a 14day grace period before you're charged with a late payment.

Uh, certified mail costs are NOT $8 for a letter-size item. It's $2.30, plus $0.37 for the stamp. $2.67. You might be talking about Registered Mail, which is substantially more expensive and probably overkill.

Check the USPS web site.
