Default certified 2006 350z reliability?

Hi, at this moment my decision for a car is pretty much set, though my only conclusion would be the reliability of a certified car vs one that isnt. the bright side is that its a 100k and 5or 6 year(forgot) powertrain warranty.
here is the link for the car. its an 06

thanks for everyone's opinions.

If you don't mind getting teased for driving a 5AT I would be all over that. I myself drive a 5AT and get given crap all the time over it, but my legs are too long to drive the 6MT.

Legs too long? How tall are you?! That would seem helpful to me! I'm 6'1" and I like my seat adjusted forward. And the 6MT vs 6AT speed debate is questionable... The AT is supposed to be just as fast, if not faster. Then again, the paddle shifters are soooo gay...

I am 6'8" with a 38" inseam. Depressing and leting out the clutch my leg comes into contact with the steering wheel. I drive my 5AT with the seat all the way back, and the steering wheel all the way up. Even then I barely squeeze in, but it's worth it. I drove my friend's same year G35 6MT and it felt quicker to me. Mine had bolt on's his was stock. I also don't have paddles, but I wouldn't call them gay. The GTR is paddle only. The paddle Lambo's, Ferrari's, Maserati's, and Porsches I have been in recently didn't seem at all gay.

Why didn't you get one of them instead of a Z?

Not sure what you get for "certified." Certified what? However the power train warranty is a winner.

Doesn't matter if you get it certified used or used. Matters how the previous owner(s) took care of it. You can also find a much better deal on an 06 than 19k for an automatic. You can get an 07 for that much now. If you can be patient it's much more worth it to look on autotrader and craigslist and find a great deal. Or if you'd rather pay a little more and get the car quicker, I'd say go for this one!

Well, a certified Z won't necessarily be more reliable... but you'll have a warranty if something does go wrong. So the real question to ask yourself is "Would I rather spend more initially and have a warranty or save money but take a chance on expensive non-warranty repairs?"
I won't go in depth on manual vs. auto since you didn't ask for our input on that matter. Regardless of which is "faster", I just prefer the control of a manual transmission... but to each their own.

Well no oil consumption with an auto! 06 autos got the older de motors. Have you test driven the car? How did it feel? I have never riden in an auto but I heard they are just as fast if not faster with a simple valve body swap! Anyways, I ordered my 06 and love it! Its a 6spd becuase I want to control what gear I am into. Just my preference. Theartfuldodger is right about the price though. For it being an enthusiast model I think its just a bit high. Maybe if it was a last year track or Grand touring. But it looks very clean and factory! If a younger/imature person would have owned it it would probably have some sort of aftermarket item! Just my opinion!

i did do a test drive and all i can say the 2003 350z (base?) was niiice, it hauled when it needed and was very responsive, i enjoyed the ride.. very smooth.
also if i do go for this im not paying tag price, for sure i would bring that baby down 2 k before even considering..

This. My 2006 5AT uses less oil than any car I've ever owned. After 3000 miles the oil is right at the top if the dipstick fill marker, exactly where it was when it was filled. The vcars that had oil consumption problems in 2006 all had rev-up engines, not the DE.

Eh good point on the paddle shifters, but those cars have an advantage at being faster, with or without paddle shifters. IMO though, I think anything without a clutch takes away from the interaction between car and driver...

Thats exactly what I just wrote. What does all 06 auto's got the older motor mean to you? Only 05 35th's 6spds, and 2006 6spds got the oil consumption prone revup's. But I have never had any issues, (KNOCK ON WOOD)
