Alot of those cars you mentioned can beat the 350Z to 60 simply because you can launch an all wheel drive car harder. You will find that from a roll a Z can match these cars and past 100 the Z wizes right by.
That being said a car is judged on more than straight line acceleration....it is also judged on all around performance.
To my main point.....those cars are ugly on their best days. Sad thing is that they look like BIG ECONO BOXES. The Z screams sex and line it up next to any of those cars and ask any girl...they will agree.
Good luck with your search but if you do but that STI realize its stick will be seeing far more action than yours.

That's why all the girls like it. It's Zexy.
A girl friend of mine saw an Evolution and said it looked like a Transformer took a **** in the road.
I like my car because girls like it.
Girls like car, girls like me.
I'm not shallow.
All in all though, whatever you're happy driving.

Slow? Tell that to the Corvette C4 I smoked last night.
Oh by the way, how fast are those C4's suppose to be? I really don't know.
As someone else said, the Sti and Evo look like Giant ECO boxes with huge wings and odd shapes on highly boosted engines.
The Z is "Zexy" and looks liek a true sports car, and when you get some modifications going on, it only gets better.
I get at least 10 comments per day, not including the ones I hear people saying as I drive by them. About how fast it is, or how awesome it looks and so on.
Not to mention, the Z FEELS great to drive, anytime i hop in something else it feels like I am driving a bus, literally.

Except around corners. The Z is faster around corners. At least I am way faster around corners than my buddy in his EVO. Is there any info comparing the Z and the STI/EVO at like Willows Springs or Streets of Willow or whatever that track is that seems to be very popular for testing?

i like all those cars but for 30 grand i better be sure what im buying, i searched most evo sti 350z forums trying to figure out pluses and minuses of those cars.
Well you can get a used Z cars for under $24K which is a big advantage. Id say our car is more a jack of all traits. WIth its only true ace being STUNNING good looks.
If you have to go between the STI and EVO get the EVO. It is the better looking of the two and can be easily upgraded. The STI just comes already upgraded.

I'd be searching on other forums besides the Coupe one then.
Engine Forum will tell you alot. Modding potential, ect.
Wheel/Suspension will tell you alot as well as far as handling and such.
Just search around, lots of info here.

Wait.....you said somebody.
SHOTGUN!
Ill have a lemonade please!
or should I get a Z-ima...
anyway, dont underestimate the power of AWD. Im not gonna sit here and talk about how its their only advantage, or how sexy the Z is and they are a sedan with a 747 strapped to its trunk.
but truth is, both are near the same HP, so the AWD is really just iceing on the cake for them, they have the guts to match up in any power comparison 2 or 4wd. their only loss with AWD is greater drivetrain loss, and more weight(but even with the extra weight, they are no heavier than the Z).
so... why do I drive a Z? good question. its not cause it has the fastest stock form, not cause its easy to modify, the STI and evo easily have the Z beat in both categories. as for handling, the Z may be able to edge the others out with its more nuetral balance and more advanced suspension, but thats argueable and I have no definitive proof.
but for one, I dont like the idea of a 4cyl sedan, not to take away from the amazing things it can do, but the only difference between an STI and an accord is a big fat turbo and AWD(ok not the only difference but you get the idea). how far can it go? itd be much cheaper to hit 400hp no doubt, but how about 500hp? or 600? can it even hit 600hp? the evo is already pushing around 18lbs of boost to get 270, the STI is pushing about 14 for 300. how high will it go? 25lbs? 30? I dont know, but in the end its a turbo 4cyl.
if an STI owner reads this, I dont blame you for thinking this is a copout arguement, maybe it is, but having a 2seater 287 N/A V6 under the hood with the Z badge is worth something to some people. and with time, effort, and money, the sky truely is the limit. it is hardly slow or sluggish, if anyone thinks it is, they are stupid, simply cause it doesnt have AWD does not make 287hp any less impressive.
and for all those talking about chicks, and all that... may be true, but its the same arguement youd get if you went and asked this same question to a boxster forum. and we all know its a load of cow poop, that you use when you just cant argue that you are the faster car.
so hows that for straddling the fence? Im like a tightrope walker eh?
