I drove today and was out because the car felt a lot better than usual. Eventually i was put into a state of trance by the car. felt goooood +1

16 degrees this morning. dry, no ice, car definitely pulls a tad bit harder when its cold.

i dont know much about boosting, i always wonder if you could put an IC w/o turbo or s.charger.

Z is fast today in Louisiana? No wait, Lower Alabama? Oh... you mean that other L.A. :P Yes, your engine makes more power with cold/dense air... is this a new phenomenon for you?

I punched it last night in 3rd gear after it warmed up. Loud and fast! It was about 20-22 degrees out.

Yes cold air will allow the engine to receive more atmosphere per foot3 or inch3 of air taken in due to the density. However I do not think it would sum up to 15%. I like the twisties down near and past Ka'u and south Kona. fun. Ive never had mine up saddle. Around the island was fun. Pulled 135 tailing a 5oh on the queen K at 1am. verbal warning *well more like a severe scolding* I was sure i was doomed. didnt know it was a 5oh till the lights went on in front of me . Learned my lesson. What color is yours? mods?

It's freaking frigid around here right now - great for engine power, not so much for keeping the wheels from spinning! My Sumi's are like rocks - better get the All-Seasons back on this weekend. Dammit!

even here in my area, the Z feels more aggressive.

it's about 59-65 during evening to early morning and it's going to get even cooler

Hmm I wish I could try it out right now, it's been about -15 to -20 for the past three nights here in Utah, but the Z is parked in my garage for winter

LOL, true enough... although I live in a subtropical climate where it is hot and humid 95% of the year so I understand heat. It was about 80 degrees just a couple of days ago... but then it was in the 30s the next day, haha. I have had several turbocharged cars and they all LOVED cooler weather.

It's all gone now. Back to 60 degrees here. That 2 days of quickness left me starving for more though. I'm seriously thinking about getting some sort of FI now. It's just so darm expensive.

They say that the twin turbos are difficult to maintain if your Z is a daily driver. Maybe that Stillen supercharger. It's like $5k installed though.

several environmental variables affect power output of a NA engine... for example...

temperature
barometric pressure
altitude
humidity

Mother nature will own you every time, in the end.

Oklahoma city, OK June 9th vs December 9th

The difference in density altitude at the greatest point on these two days, was 5465 feet. That's right at an ENTIRE SECOND in the quarter mile (not considering traction). A difference of about 265hp to the ground, versus 327. That's over a 20% difference.

Yes this is an extreme example, but if you doubt these numbers, ask a pilot.
