Hopefully it helped change your mind about buying a sports car for a woman.

That car is done, man. You're both OK and that's what's important... you're still around to enjoy the holidays!
Glad you're ok.

Your statement is false. Deployed airbags do not necessarily result in a “totaled” vehicle. I point out your error so that others are not misguided by your statement. Here is a reference.

good to hear you two are ok. so what exactly happened?

this could potentially be a good reason to mod your radiator, headlights, steering wheel cf hood? if you decide to send it to your insurance, pm me ill give you some money for your bleeder cap. located upper coolant hose, passenger firewall next to your battery. it has a phillips head thread.

Thanks guys, I'm still trying to sort all this out since we're one car short, and I don't have rental coverage. I spoke to the claims adjuster who said that they will take a look at the car on Tuesday and determine if it will be totaled. If it is, they will pay me the market price of the vehicle, which they say is determined by comparing similar Z's being sold on autotrader, ebay, etc. They do not go by NADA, Edmunds or KBB. Does this sound right to you guys?

For the wheels...someone correct me if I am wrong....I believe the touring auto comes with standard 17" wheels. The touring manual comes with 18" wheels.

Sorry about your loss.

Insurance companies do go by market value. They look at classified ads and average out the asking prices and that's what you'll probably get.

Finding what similar Z's are selling for is the most accurate way to get pricing.

The way they determine if a car is totalled is if the repair bill would excede the cost of another car, that's all they take into consideration.
