Out here on Long Island we had a prettly good frost last night. Attempted to start the Z and engine was quite rough. Took about 20-30 seconds before is smoothed out.

Also, tire pressure sensor on dash kept yelling at me, until the tires warmed up.

Guess the Z does not like the cold. Neither do I. Time to head south.

Anyone have this happen?

 

I have to add a few pounds of air when it gets cold. No rough idle though.

 

sheeeeeeeeeet, my Z loves this weather. I can feel the power increase when the numbers drop. I like warming up my **** with the heated seats too

 

I feel for you, man....we got that same frost up here in Central MA last night....scraping the ice off the windshield for the first time was definitely not good times...

 

I wish we would get some of that wheater up here. I miss Chicago.

 

It was so cold here a couple weeks ago that my tire pressure monitor stayed on from the time I left to go to work and was still on when I went to lunch. I put about 36 psi in a week ago. The Temperature gauge also said "icy". I didn't notice a rough idle, well not more than when it's warm.

 

Now I feel at ease. I live in NY and the same thing happened to me Saturday night. Low psi, alarms all that stuff. Filled the tires up and all is fine. Didn't feel any change in engine etc.

While this is my daily driver to NYC every day, I've resigned myself that I will not drive it in the winter as much, definitely no snow or salt. It's hard enough to keep this black monster shiny!
I guess the minivan will get a workout.

The tire pressure fluctuates a lot from 28-35

I would think I would add air when the tires are warm so not to overinflate.

I did see the ICY alarm. No !@#$, I had to scrape the windows also.

I'm now using my car cover from my Benz until the new one comes in for the Z.

Man, it rarely gets cold enough here in Houston, but every once in a while it is nice to come down, hop in the Z, fire up the seatwarmers. BTW - Chicks REALLY love that feature.

 

I am from woodstock Il. and the weather out here in the mornings has been realy cool, about 45 degree.
No rough idle and my Z loves it, runs pretty strong.
But I still would prefer Summer, it wont be long before I have to put my Z away for the Winter.BUMMER

 

Your tires slowly warm up and the pressure rises. It's not uncommon to start at 28 or so and end up in the low 30's.

I've driven the car in 0 degree temps and it's been fine. No rough idle or anything like that.

The car does seem to enjoy temperatures in the 50's-60's, the butt dyno tells me the car is a little faster. Who knows though, butts can lie.

 

Set your air @ 35psi cold. You should have no problem.

It is reported that for evry ten degrees temp drops the tires lose two pounds of air vise versa when temp rises. If it bothers you that much put nitogen in the tires its less effedted by the temp. By the way 79 in savannah

Yup. Just had this happen yesterday after she's been sitting in storage for a few days. The idle was almost rough enough to scare me! It did not sound good and it also stunk really bad. Kind of a tell-tale sign that the ECU is over-fueling to get the catalytic converter to light off. After a minute it was fine.

I'm guessing that those who run theirs everyday won't see quite as bad of a problem.

Put some air in those tires. You should still be at 35 PSI. In spring, you'll have to take some air out then too.

BTW: It's 1 PSI for every 10*F change in temperature.

 

Ya the cold sucks here in NY... but its a great time to take her down to ocean parkway for a 100+ run... Did that today on the way home from Hofstra, was kinda un nerving today to go past 3 State troopers on the side of the meadowbrook (Mind you I don't have a front plate on my car) was waiting for one of them to pull out as i passed them at a crisp 55 Miles an hour.

As for the cold, I give my car a good 5 min warm up before the E break even comes off. Kinda nice after class I just sit in it, as she warms up, and watch people stare at it while they drive by
