Its harder than most cars because the clutch is very grabby and shifts aren't to smooth. It all depends on what you're use to driving, but if its your first stick car than you won't know the difference. My DD Tiburon is stick and I drive it fine everyday, then when I get into the Z I feel like a moron. I originally thought it was just me but after expressing this to a few other Z guys it seems to be the general consensus.

I used to own a Mustang GT and the 350z gear shift points are so long. I'm still not used to it yet after 2 years of owning mine

Be it man or not... the 350z is one of the harder manual cars on the road. I've driven BMWs and Vettes all in stick and their shift points were way smoother. Not saying it's hard but just not as smooth as I want the Z to be.

A very difficult clutch to get use to because its very heavy. I would say as difficult as any Porsche but a lot harder than any honda, volkswagen etc.

Define "hard to drive".

If you mean hard to drive smoothly, yes. If you mean hard to drive without stalling, no...or at least I don't think so. I let my gf(almost no driving experience) drive mine and she had no issues with starting off but we were also on relatively flat roads.

Not if you're a man.

My wife (65 years old, 5 ft tall, 100 lbs) has no problem driving my '06 6MT.

I guess Bill's wife is more of a man than those who think the 6MT is hard to drive.

I just got my first Z a couple of days ago and it's my first manual. I drove with my parents who both know how to drive stick and it was pretty rough at first. Rolling out of 1st gear smoothly is a little challenging. Also stopping and going on an incline is challenging. Yesterday was my 4th day to drive it and it gets a little smoother everyday. The real challenge will come when I move back to Austin.

^ Those are just the difficulties of any stick shift. The Z is picky with shifting smoothly between gears and providing the right amount of gas to the right RPMs etc.

I hope you have $$ saved up for a new clutch. I think those years had clutch problems to begin with and now with a nubz behind the wheel you'll probably need a replacement in a couple months.

Most newer stick shift cars are easy to drive. My girlfriend can drive my car and she can barely even drive stick. Don't worry about the power, you won't really be burning rubber with the traction control on unless you really press on the gas. In the grand scheme of things this car has just enough power to make it interesting and that's about it, nothing to be even remotely scared of. It can be just as dangerous as a Kia Sephia with a moron behind the wheel.
