is the HR Motor worth the extra money?
I have been looking at a 2007 350z to purchase and i am about to buy it but i keep wondering if it would be smarter to save a few grand and buy an 04-05 z? it would be a 6speed and i have been trying to search but i havent come up with anything that would answer my question. Its not weather it is a faster car but is the price difference work it? Thanks in advance.

Think about this- it's the most refined version of the 350z, with the most horsepower, best styling (especially nismo) and is going to last you longer since it's newer (most likely). I think you'd be moderately thick headed not to. also since you are on this forum, you will 99% mod your car, and the HR motor responds to mods MUCH more effectively than the DE!
Do it, it's worth it.

whether its worth it or not is kinda up to YOU. The 04-05 may have some oil consumption issues so look at it this way...is it worth it to save a few grand and run the risk of having possible engine problems?

In my honest opinion, unless you plan on tracking the car or dragging it, I don't think you'll really care about the difference. The money you save from not getting the HR can be put into the car you do get and making it nicer with rims, kit, etc.
All depends on what you want really.

i agree to a certain extent...if ur gonna do a built motor i agree, just go with a DE and build it, if ur gonna stay stock block then thats a toss up because u can make more power on a stock block safely on the HR, but u could get a DE and run some low boost on it for much cheaper than u could do it with buying a HR and doing it and be just as happy
