I posted this last year but I figured with so many new members, I'd post it again.

I suggest everyone check your air filter and intake box. With all the leaves falling off the trees and blowing around, I was very surprised to find the area in front of the filter totally blocked with leaves! I suggest checking it every week or so.. You will be amazed what finds it's way into the air box. All you have to do is lift the 2 clips up and pull the filter straight up.. Very easy..

lol, once i found a candy wrapper in there. I think its because the car is so low, it just catches everything.

 

Thanks for the tip k2we!!! Could you maybe post some pics of how to do it? I know you said it is easy to do, but I don't want to look like a dumbass out trying to find the 2 clips(I keep it parked on the street at campus).

 

It's very easy Zlove ! Lift up the two clips on your air box and then lift out the filter assembly....comes straight up.

Not too many blowing leaves here in L.A. but mine's probably full of trash, sand, and dead lizards. I think there's a civic or two in there as well...
