Default Sorry About All Of That Guys

Sorry for writing my post like that. I honestly don't care about all the stuff that was said I just need my problem fixed, so I'm just going to post it up again and please help guys thanks.

I bought my 350z a month ago after I finished my paper work. They said that they had a problem with the airbag light. So they fixed it, the next day it turned back on. After they finished all the paper to send my warranty in, I asked them to fax me over my warranty copy. When I received it, I saw that they checked off 2 years instead of three.

I called and the guy in the finance department said that's what he has on his computer. I then went home to check my original copy and I saw that nothing was checked off, but the one she faxed me was. I need to know what I can do about this.

Also I know what I did was stupid, it is honestly my fault because I didn't read it carefully. He said I was going to get three years when he really checked off two, but my original copy has nothing checked off. Please let me know what I can do.

Sorry about the situation. I have been buying cars for more than 40 years. Still get anxious. Still do not read all the small print. Do not be too hard on yourself.

What year is the Z?

If the copy of the papers does not have anything checked and the one that was faxed does have a check, then you can definitely fight it. They cannot modify a contract without your initials or signature.

I just bought a new car and they had me come in to re-sign because there was an incorrect figure on the contract. They changed it and had me sign again. The change didn't affect anything, but they cannot change anything without your signature. That's called forgery. Get a lawyer or get them to change it to the three year that you had agreed to. Make sure and mention a lawyer when you ask them to change it.

It sounded like you were working out a finance deal too, you should double check your rates and loan information... who knows what else you unknowingly agreed to.

Then the Nissan warranty is out.

Used cars are sold "as is." Sometimes the seller gives a limited 30-day warranty. Very limited. Your contract is binding. If it says “Will fix airbag light” you are OK. If it does not the fix is on your dime.

Wow........YOU SUCK!

I think I am less smart after reading your poorly put together, normal newb post. SEARCH! PUNCTUATION! LONG POST = CLIFF NOTES! (no one wants to read your long trash life story on how your life sucks because you are stupid)

<end rant>

+1...BRING THE CAR BACK!

Do some research to see if your state has a "Buyers Remorse" law regarding auto purchases. It may help. Either way, don't wait any longer to take the car back.

***EDIT*** After realizing that you've had the car for at least a month, I doubt you have any recourse.

First of all I new to here. I am a Houston Police Officer. What you have is a civil matter and not a criminal matter so the police can not do any thing for you. What I would do is first call one of the local news shows and tell them your story. In Houston they would go to the dealership with there cameras and most of the time that works. Or you can sue them in civil court. You would have a good case. One the contract you have at home was done in your presents and there was no check mark on the warranty. The one they faxed you was a copy and it did have a check mark on 2 years. They illeaglly put a check on it with out your permission and thet would be illeagl. 2 The air light bag light was fix and the next day it went back on there should have been some kind of papper work that said they fixed it. If so then you have a other case becaues the light should have not come on. I hope that helps.

+1 on bringing the car back and getting a fresh start, but I have doubts due to the fact that it has been a month. Your only other option might be to get an attorney and have him look over all the paper work with a professional. Sometimes when dealerships feel the pressure of a lawsuit, they will work with you. It wouldn't hurt to have a nissan dealership look at the car and try to get an idea of what is wrong with the airbag light in the meantime. GOOD LUCK!

Let this be a lesson . Never buy a used car without taking it on trial for at least 2 days .

I don't think many used car dealers will let you do this. I have found that 100% of the used car dealers I visited are insanely sketchy. I would guess most of their inventory is cars that they got at auction for 1/3 of what they are trying to sell for, and once they get them they may find issues they try to "fix".
