Default who has broken their nav/storage door cover?

Just curious. All the magazines and lots of members complain about how flimsy they are, but I've never seen an owner complain about it breaking. Mine works great after a year. Anyone else?

I think there complaining more about how poorly it opens and closes. I love our car and even like that cubby whole but the way it functions just plain sucks.
But that sure as hell isn't why I bought this fine machine!

Indeed....I've never had a problem with mine breaking or coming unhinged, but having to pull the door straight out horizontally and then pull it down is poor design. When a person sees that cubbyhole door open, the first instinct is to pull it straight down, not outwards. Nissan must've realized this too, considering that the door on the '04 models is motorized.

How much do you they would charge to switch to motorized?

'04 non motorized nav door kicks ***. Granted, you could never put a tv there (it doesnt retract into the dash, just hangs out). But, very easy to open and close and does its job for storage or some XM radio reciever!

Going on 14 months and no problem with the door, granted I think I am the only one that has opened or closed in all that time so no possibility of a novice breaking it.

the 04 just doesnt retract into the dash, and I for one am glad that mine does, its less obtrusive when open not having a thing sticking out.

I can close it no problem, others are not as lucky, they always pull it out but as they pull it out they want it to go down too, then they dont know how far out to go before it goes down. easy once you see how it works.

People who have troubles with the NAV door just don't know how to close it properly.

I've had no problems and no complaints about it whatsoever.

The Nav door complaint is as lame as the continual rear view mirror complaint(there are two places to adjust, not one). Both just take reading the manual and learning how to use them properly. I just reacher over, put a couple of fingers underneath the open door, pull out, and then press down. Works great, although a motorized closing would be better.

I suppose if I didn't have NAV and just used the space as a storage compartment, I would have more to gripe about regarding how the door closes.

Since I have Nav, I only use the door when I am going somewhere that I don't already know how to get to. I would be opening and closing the door a whole lot more if the space was a storage compartment and the out then down thing might get old.

I have nav and leave my door open ALL the time (has only been closed about 6 times in 6 months or so). I don't think it feels that flimsy, but I am recently having problems with a rattle in the dash that mysteriously goes away when I close the nav door... maybe its constructed more cheaply then i thought.

I dont like the 2004 nav door at all, damn thing stick out half way across the galaxies. I would rather have no motorize and retractable door. Anyone got a spare one to sell?

I was at the dealership for my 6000 mile and sat in an 04. I felt the door on the 04 was equally crappy, and the fact that it doesn't retract into the dash annoyed me. Personally, I have no problems with my door, since I know how to properly use it. It is important that you not let friends who do not know how to close it, try to do so.

Now the POS dashboard cupholder can eat my ***. I have to get mine fixed. Totally my fault, but I feel there are just way too many lightwieght cheep plastic parts that could get broken easily.
