Hey Austin People!!!!
I need a HUGE favor.
My car is MIA!!! It's supposed to be at South Point Nissan, but it's not yet!!! It is on the inventory list(since thursday), and it was due Friday. If anyone happens to ride by would you please let me know if you see a truck???
The dealer is not any help. And i'm running out of options. I've got to make a travel decision by Sunday night, and of course, they're closed.
I appreciate any info you may have.

Not an Austin person but visiting my parents here in the great city. The only ones they have are a silverstone enthusiast and a white touring (bought by someone in TN). Both are in the service garage out of the normal person's sight with no delivery trucks around. This was as of 4pm on Saturday.

Thanks
Things are starting to smell a little. I realize they can't predict delivery dates, but things are not adding up anymore. They won't return a phone call, and are always too busy to answer questions. Something has gone wrong. It's different now. Ever since the car showed up in inventory. Hell, they even sold me the car as an auto and it's a 6 speed. Said it was a mistake...yeah right. Cost $1500 more!!! They know I'm in a bind reference travel plans this weekend. If I can't get the car by Tuesday( a week after promised delivery on my contract!!), it could be a month before I can get back down there. I'm starting to believe this whole thing is gonna be a major pain in the ***!!
But...I'm not going away!!!!

who was your sales person? The sales manager is Jimmy Barnes, ask for him. He helped me out a ton, my salesperson was not there on Thursday when my Z came in....
Hope it all works out.... and if this helps, they were VERY concerned with what I would say on my customer servey, they mentioned it like 10+ times, so you may want to use that to get some service.

Art the Fart
He's was ok in the beginning. But it's starting to take a baaaad turn for the worse.
I can't get an update on delivery from anyone there!!! I've talked to Art, Eon, and Renee the manager. Hell, each one of them promised to call me back with an update, but not one of those sumbitches did!!!
So, here I sit, still waiting for some kind of update. What pisses me off the most is that each time I call, they have a "customer" in front of them, and they are too busy to talk. WTF!!! What am I then??? I though buying a $36,000 car, sight unseen, would qualify ME as a customer! Not to mention the fact that I am driving 900 miles to pick it up.
What we have here is a failure to communicate...
More to follow..

atcga,
Call the dealer GM, Steve David and tell him that you are unhappy with their service. However, he can't get anything from Nissan last Wednesday afternoon and Thursday either, until my car just showed up Thursday afternoon. At least you get a better service from his folks. I did after I talked to him twice.

Which one is yours? I really thought Art told me one that was there already was for a buyer in Alabama, and I imagine there aren't too many people in Alabama that buy their cars in Austin, TX. Tell me color, package, and transmission and I'll try to check tomorrow - the dealership is just south of downtown - where I work.

Mine is CS, manual, frost, nav. My Vin ends in 1522. One of the mangers told me late Thursday that he had a paper showing a drop date of Friday. And yes, I am coming from Alabama. This deal has been set up for a while now. My original delivery date was Aug 26. I have that on my contract. they were almost guaranteeing delivery then. Since that date, no one wants to talk about delivery. I just get the sense something's wrong. I can't put my finger on it though. When my car first appeared on the inventory list at Nissan thursday it showed a 6 speed instead of the auto on my contract. When I called the dealer to inquire, not one of those people would call me back with an answer. I had to make several phone calls to a few people just to get hem to admit it was in fact a 6 speed and the price of the car was about $1500 more than contract.
Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry... I'll go down there and find out for ya. I live about 5 miles from Southpoint Nissan. Plus, I'm from Montgomery AL (just live in Austin) and I do dread that drive back to visit family.
I work Tuesday but I'll go by there Wed. and ask them straight up "is the car here that's being purchansed from someone in Alabama?". If they start to look down and to the right I'll know they are lying bastards... I'll let ya know what I find ASAP. I was told that my car (PPW touring & aero pkg) would be here in 2 weeks or less. I sure hope they don't attempt to give me the run around they way they doing you.

Neither one they have is CS. They have an enthusiast silverstone and a white touring bought by someone in Tennessee. No chrome silvers to be found this weekend.

Craig,
Thanks for looking. It's probably a little paranoia creeping in at this point. But they should care a little more than they do. I do appreciate you taking the time.
Money,
Nice to have a bama man around. I do hope you have better luck than I have. Like I've said before it's just smelling a little fishy. They're customer service has dropped to about zero with me. BTW, which route is the best whenever I do take off for Austin?? And, how long a drive is it??
All the Austin people have been real helpful. I can't wait to get there and meet some of the locals.

No problem Greg. I almost preordered from them back in June but backed out because they seemed to eager to hurry everything. I talked to a general manager on Saturday when I stopped by who was extremely helpful (unfortunately he isn't for you) and yes they were extremely busy- as in over 50 people sitting in the showroom with salesmen at tables scattered about. I would be getting paranoid at this point too with no Z sitting there that was supposed to be.

That pretty much sums up my dissapointment now. They were extremely eager at first. Had a great sense of urgency about getting the car and information to me about it. Boy has that changed. Guess they got the money now, no more need to hurry.

Southpoint Nissan is the WORST nissan dealer in the nation. I would NEVER buy a car from them. I know several people who avoided that place like the plague when they bought their new Pathfinders.

After you pass thru Houston (maybe 70 miles or so), you'll see Highway 71 west (to Austin). You'll end up (1.5 hrs) in Austin at the I-35 overpass/intersection. You'll need to go left (south) on that service road and you'll see Southpoint Nissan about 1/4 mile down on your right.. Just let me know (gmoneyr1@yahoo.com) when you're coming and I'll meet up wit ya.
