Angry 200 miles and 1 speeding ticket

Damn! On my way home last night I got pulled for doing 83 in a 55. Ouch! That's gonna hurt. This is my first ticket in 4 years. Didn't take long. The car just begs to be driven. The funny thing is that I had been varying my speed under the speed limit most of the night. Then, on the last mile home I decided to push it a little bit. Blue lights. Mandatory court appearance too.

Bummer

You could be the 1st reported Z ticket...

I'm guessing many of us will follow.

Do a search on google for "fighting speeding ticket", theres tons of sites with good tips - not necessarily to get you out of it, but to help reduce the fine, insurance issues, etc.

Hire a lawyer. Ask for an extension. Maybe they will goof up in the court filing (esp with the dates) and your case will get thrown out with prejudice. Meaning the prosecutor will have to re-file the case (most of the time they won't be there). That's how I got off....Lawyer $175....well worth it since I wanted a clean record for the Z....didn't want the insurance to get jacked up for 3 years. Good Luck!

i got busted doing 80 in a 55 zone like a month ago. speed limits are set too low anyways. its a good way to make money, no? my ticket was $180. have you ever actually *tried* to drive the speed limit, especially when you're driving local? u feel like you're crawling!

but anyways, thankfully my insurance is unaffected.

The funny, or not so funny, thing is that I had been driving under the limit during my 30 minute drive home. Then with about a mile left I gave her a little kick, not hard to hit 83, and boom blue lights not 200 yards from my house. I didn't even get my money's worth! Oh well. I will see what I can do about getting it reduced and try to slow it down a bit.

In2Gems,

I am going to try drop by and take you for a ride this week. I drove out that way today but I knew that your shop was closed.

LOL! No, I haven't used my detector in a while. I decided to pull it out this morning, one day late. I don't know that it would have helped me much last night though. It was 2:00am and I was the only car on the road. Would have been interesting though...
