VIN Decoding / Track Production Number - HELP!!!
Ok, Here is what im looking for...
I have a 2003 350z track.
On my VIN, my serial number (the last 6 numbers) is 014779 WHICH MEANS: I have the 14,779th 350z made in 2003.
I know that part.
What im wondering is: Can anyone tell me how to tell what "track model" production number my car/any 350z would be? Like if someone told me "track models where serial numbers 10,000 - 16,000 or something, so then I could break down what number I am...
For example im the 14,779th 350z to roll out of nissan, but I could be only the 427th track model made...
Thats what I'm looking for...
Can anyone help, or give advice???
Thanks.

I just compared a VIN using the Nismo I want to buy and a solar orange, same year, all numbers were the same except for the 9th digit and the serial number according to the graph above. Does this mean that the only way to discern between models lie in the serial number? For example, when looking for insurance, do you tell them it's a Nismo, or do you tell them it's a 350z and go through the options it has? My insurance just showed it as a 350z from the VIN. Is insurance more expensive on a Nismo than say a grand touring, which has more options and is better equipped?

As always, go to the source...
http://www.courtesyparts.com/vin.php
... as you can see, there's nothing to identify trim, model, color, sequence.
