What's "Notice of security interest filing"?
okay, i paid off my Z now and they sent me a document that is just look like a title, but it clearly says "THIS IS NOT A TITLE".
it is notice of sercurity interest filing. so in order to get the "real" title, do i have to bring it to DMV and get a title for me?

Lenders used to work with various state motor vehicle departments to provide you with a clear (no lien) title. Now, apparently, you have to do it yourself. I suspect this is a money saver for the lender. You pay the title fee.
The only thing I question here is the possibility of a fraudulent release form. Looks like I could write a simple letter saying “davidv no longer owes us any money and the vehicle is lien free.”
