Default Would you rather have a 04 TRACK model, or an 06+ touring or enth. is track worth it?

Im looking to buy a Z in the next 3 weeks... I found a REALLY clean 04 track with only 27k miles on it, 1 owner 40+ year old guy... for 15,300.. and im considering it
Definitely the best deal ive found for an 03-04....
OR
Should I look around for a 06+ touring, base, or enthusiast model??
Which im thinking I could find also with low miles, for around 16 or 17....

Is the track really worth it???

Your shopping technique is half-***.

The deal is made when you visit the seller with a roll of $100 bills in your pocket. Any other method is academic.

The track has Brembos, lightweight Ray's wheels which in today's market could fetch 2k used.
You can add these to any other model.

The 07+ really moves nicely and shifts better than my 3 other track 6 speed.

The 07+ brakes are almost as large ..good for dd but if you want to track the car you will want to upgrade.
Some 06's had oil issues.
You can get 07's for a little more bucks.

It is good for you to get as much INFORMATIVE answers from the community before you decide.

Well put by Ray himself.

Why not spend just a tad bit more for a whole new setup?

07's+ comes with the new and improved HR motor.

Do some research on that.

Base Model on 07's might raise you up to 18s. Less problems. More bang for you Buck.

However, regarding your post.

I don't know. No, opionion.

if i could get that track that you speak of for 14.5-14.75 i would jump on it, otherwise i would be looking for 07+ with low mileage and be willing to pay a bit extra (enthusiast/up). i buy and sell a lot of car and am always willing to pay a little extra to get the newer/lower mileage car (within budget of course)

Not trying to steal your thread, I'm in the same boat, but this may be a beneficial question for you too. Is it worth the extra cash for the enthusiast model or is a base just fine? I don't need luxury but I'm concerned with the base's lack of traction control.

^^^ I have an '07 enthusiast and for some reason it does not have traction control or lsd or any of that, it has the buttons for it but they are just solid plastic. No it's not a base model the papers show it is an enthusiast but i don't know why it doesn't have it..doesn't bother me though the car is still fun to drive!

You can't sell OEM V1 Rays/Track Wheels for anymore than 1K these days, and that's with tires.

Also, 06+ come with the larger brakes. Not just 07-08.

But I do agree though, I would just get an 07 since it has a VQ35HR.

+1. Unless you track (road race) the car, you won't need the Brembo's. Just upgrade your pads from stock and maybe the fluid and you'll have all the braking power you need.

Also, yeah. Most are lucky to get $1k for their V1 Track Rims.

it sounds like you got screwed ssarow. that doesn't make much sense to me. anyway, have you driven it hard? does the car ever slide out when you don't want it to due to the lack of traction control?

It doesn't have cruise control either, its basically a base labeled as an enthusiast haha. No there is definitely no traction problems, I've gone through sharp turns, corners etc. and it holds fine but it is definitely a pain in the *** in the rain.

I was turning left at a 4 way stop around 8 am one morning and I was in 1st then shifted to 2nd right when I finished my turn still going at normal speed and I lost control because the road was wet, my car skidded sideways into the divider which wasn't really a divider its just 2 curbs seperating the lanes and by some stroke of luck my left front wheel bounced off the curb at an angle and bounced me right back into control haha.

I will take pictures of what I have and the label that says enthusiast.

HEre are the pics

These are where the buttons normally would be. They are just plastic boxes and you cannot push them. No tc/vls/lsd etc.

I don't know how reliable dealership papers are but they have it listed as 2007 Nissan Enthusiast.

It's odd but in terms of traction, the traction is great during dry conditions. Once it's wet or rainy the traction can cause problems and I think TC/Vsl or whatever is extremely beneficial in those areas.

They sold the car to me for 17.5K at 26K miles 2007 6 speed and it was in great condition.

hmm that's very interesting..thank you for the very detailed response, it made me realize I definitely want an enthusiast model ( one with tcs, cruise control etc ) 17.5k still isn't a bad deal for what you got but the dealer you bought it from probably shouldn't be trusted. can't wait to join the 350Z community, I'm counting the days!!

ssarow- looks like they got you, but regardless 17.5 seems like a good deal from a dealer. Im searching for an 07 enthusiast 6 sod in black and having a hard time.
