Base FTL. Cloth seats and all those blank plastic pieces where the options should be makes the Z look cheap.

Arnold, I referred to both wheels and Brembos for 2k which is possible.
ssraw .. Enth will have cruise no VDC.
I thought it would have TCS???

My 07 is a base.. it was damaged before being sold so has a salvage title.
all plastics still on the doors etc..drives sweet...

Harder to sell though so it is a keeper

wish i went with a track model..brakes and wheels alone are worth it.. but an 07's new headlights, tail lights, fr bumper, interior upgrade, and hr motor sounds like the way to go..

I don't know how reliable dealership papers are but they have it listed as 2007 Nissan Enthusiast.

It's odd but in terms of traction, the traction is great during dry conditions. Once it's wet or rainy the traction can cause problems and I think TC/Vsl or whatever is extremely beneficial in those areas.

They sold the car to me for 17.5K at 26K miles 2007 6 speed and it was in great condition.
Thanks for the photo. No TCS button equals Base. Paperwork means squat.

OK... Im thinking im leaning towards an 07 base or enthusiast now... Ill have that track model as a last resort... but heres what im thinking

whats so great about the track model? brembo brakes and the rays wheels...

BUT, the track im looking at doesnt even have the rays wheels, and I personally dont have much desire or need for the brembo brakes...

Im thinking I want a later model enthusiast or base HR motor!

are VDC and TCS really that important?

Go with the Enthusiast I guess but make sure its a REAL enthusiast unlike mine lol . The only thing I dislike is the 'plasticy' interior, the plastic is extremely ugly. IMO VDC and TCS seem to be very important in wet or bad conditions but ask other members about their VDC and TCS experiences. There is a thread here called 'Do you drive with VDC/TCS on or off?' and there is a ton of information in that thread to help you make your decision.

If you can get the track with the Rays/Brembo's then go for it, if not go for an 07 Enthusiast but it's really up to you, if you see the car and love it then go for it!

edit: Here is the thread check it out and I would read every post because you don't want to regret anything later

Trust me, my friend. I was in the same boat as you last year. I bought myself an 07' Enthusiast for less than 17k. Great buy and had the dealer replace the arm rests that had a few scratches ( free ofcourse). I still can't get the smile off my face just thinking about my car!

Remember one thing. PATIENCE! Your time will come buddy! Do not rush into this. Stay calm and the best Z will come at a great price. Goodluck and welcome!

Dealers lie so that when you go home and punch in the values you get a higher number. Granted this is equally your fault for being duped, but if it was my car and screw up, I'd be at the dealership the next hour they opened. . . like now. This is a common tactic by non-Nissan dealerships that simply don't know but MORE common by Nissan dealerships that are trying to get more money for their cars by screwing over the uneducated customer.

Does said track model have the Brembos? Does it have another set of stock wheels or aftermarket wheels that the owner purchased?

None of those things are "important" unless you are going to drive the car in a performance style and will want those items. They do help towards resale as well. If I was building another real track car, however, I'd start with a base as all the upgraded equipment is useless and not enough when pushed to over 95% driving threshold. We just bought our first HR last week, and the HR is awesome. In its stock form it won't beat my 03', but it's a nice upgrade to my wife's 04 ZR.

When I bought my 03 black touring model, it was the perfect car. Then the modd bug bit me. Bose is gone, stock wheels replaced. stock brakes, now Willwoods, different hood, different exhaust, different strut bar. I quess my point is, if you have awesome self control, buying that one Z model makes sense. If you think you will start modding the car, consider the factory features you can't do without, then modd on.
