Default My Annual Report

Hello all,

My last visit here was shortly before I turned 72 last April. I mentioned plans to go the Pebble Beach in August to visit the Concours d'Elegance. Made the trip from Tucson in my Z and loved every minute of it. The Z is a fantastic road car with great power, control, and passing ability. It handled those California highways like they didn't exist. I have plans to go again this August but this time I am bringing a friend who is also a sports car lover. My wife will be going to Hawaii with our daughter while I am away.

Today I turned 73.

There is a 17 year old teenager down the block who I consider a part time grandson. We go to a lot of car shows and talk at length about life and women. I taught him to drive. About 60% of his driving was in the Z. Last week he went to the senior prom. I let him borrow the Z to take his girlfriend to dinner before the prom. I chickened out on letting him take the car to the prom. His mother drove them both ways (yuck!) but he was not the only one. I have promised him the Z when he turns 25, when I might start looking to upgrade to a 420Z, assuming it looks a lot better than the one they are selling now.

Very happy to see this board is still so active. The 350Z continues to be my pride and joy. It rides beautiful, looks beautiful, and is unbelievably reliable. Have almost 41000 on it now and no problems.

Maybe I will try to get back here more often.

...happy birthday from a young pup of 68. I also use my Z to travel.

I'm also still an avid autocrosser. Those years come fast, don't they?

If anybody is interested in seeing the pictures I took last year at the Concours d'Elegance and Concorso Italiano go to www.photobucket.com, click on Search, check people, and then type trains1937 in the space. You will see 3 albums. Two are of cars in these two shows. The other is of pictures my wife took to Estonia at the same time that I was in Monterey. That album is not as interesting as the two car albums.

I agree with you. He is a good teen. Has a part time job and will be working full time this summer and probably most of his senior year. He has vision problems that left him blind in one eye. He is unable to play contact sports but is in track, swims, and plays in the band. He is getting the car on one condition: that when the time comes for him to part with it he must find a worthy young person and pass it on, with the commitment that the cycle will be repeated when that person parts with it.
