Thumbs down roomate didnt look behind him while backing out. :(

Hey people...

Today my roomate was leaving and didnt look behind him and he hit my driverside. Knocked my cwest carbon lip spoiler off too. I am kinda mad but the lip is ok and the car is fixable. I could have done with out this though...

Sorry to hear man. You're right that the car is fixable... Nice to hear that you're level-headed (not irrationally angry) about the situation.

it could have been worse, but it still suxx... your car will never be the same, but you can get it clsoe at a good shop. I had some repainting done, and I have been through a major ordeal to get my ride looking right again. Be sure to goto several shops to find out who can do a proper match on your paint, and someone who will guarantee their work. A reputable shop will show you their work without any question... you may want to avoid Nissan body shops, the ones around me do crappy work.

if he hit near the wheel, i suggest you check the suspension for damage, aluminum tends to bend easily. Sorry to hear what happened though.

nah the wheels is fine. I got a quote from my body shop. $1694, I need a new fender and it is a 3 stage paint. I may take this as a sign to get a full body kit.

Anyone interested in a used CWest carbon lip? There was a slight scuff mark on the lip but I polished it out and you cant tell. I will post it for sale in the classifieds..

Won't that make the insurance cost go up?

My retarded cousin did this so he could get a whole wide body kit for his turbo civic hatch. Now he has to pay a couple hundred dollars more.

my insurance wont go up because they wont find out about it. It will make my roomates insurance go up though cause he is the one who backed into it. The car was parked.

Mike- I looked at those companies fenders but they have vents and Amuse is way too expensive anyway. I emailed a few companies to see if they could make me replacements in carbon fiber. (VIS, Fiberimages, SEIBON). Hopefully one of them will reply.

My roomare has an 04 Accord. We usually park next to each other in the carports in our apt's garage so we know we're not gonna jack up each others rides.

lol I appreciate everyone sympathy...

He drives a Volkswagen, so I look at that as a form of punishment he gets everyday when he drives it.

It's actually not too bad. The insurance companies sort it out anyway. Sure it's not going to be perfect, but you can always think to the future when they have wide-body fenders for the Z ala old-skool 911.

My car had a very similar dent in the right rear quarter panel. A pick up truck backed into it. It's fixed and looks OK.

sorry to hear, I am replacing the fender, so there wont be anything noticable. That is unless they dont match the paint perfectly. But the shop I took it to knows it is a 3-stage paint process and they seemed to know all about it. I trust them that they will do an excellent job. They said I wont be able to tell that I was ever hit.

Be careful when deciding who does the paint. I have heard that it is tricky for the DB.
