Default Bought a 350Z bout 2 weeks ago

Well, I'm very happy with the car. I bought it for a lil under 40K(well my dad paid for it). So far I have about 1300 miles on it from 80 that it came with. I though that it was a lil too much but it has every option and the dealer added all the accessories. There was the Lo-Jack option that they told me was standard. Costly but i'm sure it's worth it. Well, this looks like a pretty cool forum. I also may be the youngest Z driver here(17, 18 in 2 months).

Also, as far as the problems are concerned, I haven't had anything major. Just a lil hard to put in 6th sometimes.

I upgraded from an 02 GTI 1.8T and this small problem ain't nothin compared to the constant grinding of the VW tranny.

So Far So Good.

Congrats and it is good to see this is not your FIRST car. I am sure you would agree it could be dangerous (I am 18 myself and know this)

I started with an ugly old Nissan Sentra, stepped up to a 300zx, and now a 2003 Mach I.

Again, congrats on the great car!

Congrats

Glad to see you're well grounded and know you're lucky. My parents didn't trust me to be well grounded so I had to wait (plus it's hard to drive a 350z in MN winters and I blew all my money on education anyway).

The LoJack thing sounds suspicious to me. I can't believe that you HAVE to buy it. Mine was an option down here in Miami (dunno how far away Orange Park is). I personally don't like it (doesn't make economic sense really) so I didn't get it. Enjoy the car!

Congrats!

LoJack isn't a standard option. It will be nice to have if you start to put some money into the car. Good luck!

200 posts, weeeeeeeee.
I don't even own a Z yet.

Mike Shad was the only one that had a 6mt Navigation. My mom wanted to buy the car that day because she didn't have any other time to. We first looked at the new TL but they didn't have any 6 speed/navigations and plus they didn't give us good prices on our cars. We traded in my GTI and my 15 year old brothers Lancer Evolution. Acura only gave us 11500 and 18000(what a F*ckin rip off for a new Evo with only 6000 miles) So we went to Mike shad and they gave us 12000 and 25000. Still a rip for the Evo but i guess it's alright. U must think we're crazy for trading and Evo, but that car had poor quality.

Hey rummy, do yourself a favor and quit flaming people like that. This is not the Jerry Springer show, show some love and quit being a JERK!

Now back to the Lo-jack, you got ripped, that is not a factory options. ITS called, dealer mark-up.

Also, am I sensing this might be another twins thread! JK, lOL

HMMM, guess, I am flaming now.

Anyway, congrats on yourZ. Mus be nice to get nice things. My first car, was a 1984 puke green Olds Delta 88 Diesel that my dad bought me. Blew the engine and transmission the first year I had it. Was a piece of junk.

Anyway, drive safe, and watch that speedo!!!!!!!!!!!

congrats on your car! i'm 29 and am still driving my first car, a '95 saturn that i got in college. i'm saving up for my Z, which i'll be driving next summer.

you seem like a friendly guy. just appreciate that ride you have and as long as you develop a work ethic, i think you'll be alright!

if the dealer said lo-jack was included, he's going to HELL!!!! LOL

Congrats on the Z!

It's taken me 25 years to get into the right "life situation" to allow for a Z. My first car was a 1972 Pinto hatchback.

As others have stated, be mindful of your driving in the Z. It's the one or two seconds that people get distracted that cause the accidents. Just because a car can do 110 down the freeway doesn't mean it should. I'm sure I'll get flamed for that one, but we lose more people in traffic accidents than anyone wants to admit and most accidents can be traced back to being "stupid behind the wheel" (on somebody's part).

A car is a way to get from point A to point B. The Z just happens to make that drive a lot more fun than most.

Congrats! Lo-Jack is not a mandatory option. You got took on that...but it sounds like your fam could afford to shell out a few extra bucks rather than haggle for a day ;-)

lemme get this straight. Your brother, who is 15, has a Lancer Evolution?

Wonder if your parents don't mind quoting how much they pay for the 2 cars insurance? Well since you traded in 2 cars, which car did your brother get, since you traded the Evo and your Golf GTI?

I just can't see a 15 year old driving an Evo or a Z for that matter.

O my lil brother got a g35 coupe auto. My mom didn't want him driving that car cuz it attracted so many racers. She didn't want him to make the same mistake I did(got a racing ticket that required 2 court dates, but I got a break and the other 2 guys went to jail. I just had to take a 4 hour mistameador class). My mom never liked to car in the first place, but my dad was ok with it.

My parents are gettin old and they just bought us these cars because they plan on retiring and moving back to thailand.

I guess we're spoiled but I'm no brat. I don't take this for granted. I'm sure graduating college will make them 100 times happier than I was when I got my cars.

About the evo, yep, it was my 15 year old brothers. He got it before he got his license. He only drove it legally for about 4000 miles. And we hooked it up with a Ultimate Racing Turbo Back Exhaust and an HKS BOV(caused alot of problems though) and a K&N Cone filter that hooked directly to the mass air flow. But the factory clutch blew so we had to put in a Exedy unit. It was a pretty fast F--kin car.

Here's a link I found from Autotrader. I think they already sold it but the page is still up. The bumper isn't there because someone backed up into it and scratched it pretty good.Damn hit and run.

I know I said they gave us 25000 for it but I just added all the discounts to the value so it make me feel better.
