Default What a night for a drive.

My wife has been out of town for a few days and will return tomorrow evening. In the 2 days she's been gone, I sold my home gym and managed to get it out of the garage this evening. It is now living at another house where it will hopefully get more use. ANYWAYS, I finished cleaning out the garage so both cars could fit in there without hitting doors. It was 11:30pm and I went to pull the Z in for the night but once I got outside everything changed. It had been unusually hot the past 2 days so to my surprise the temp had dropped to a comfortable 67 degrees. I looked up to see the full moon with a few ghostly white clouds in the sky. The stars where shining bright. As I got in the car, I knew what I had to do. I fired it up with the windows already down and the exhaust was singing to me. Before I knew what was happening, I was blasting down the back roads of SC. It was amazing! There was fog everywhere but it was just above the roof line. It felt like I was sailing just under the cloud line. The leaves on the road all scattered as I flew over them. Roads I have never been on before that flowed endlessly with it all to myself as I ran through the gears listening to that sweet sound. It felt like the car and I had found the perfect bond. Everything was in perfect sync. I was lost in the thoughts of just how perfect the night really was. I was also lost in the fact that I had no clue where in the hell I was. I just kept turning left and eventually found my way home. As I backed the Z into the garage for the night I knew what had just happened was special. For that hour I was free from any worry the world could give me. No thoughts of money. No thoughts of time. Just the car and myself becoming 1 and owning the roads.

Hopefully you'll have just as satisfying an experience with your wife when she comes home.

Great story man! I definitely have those moments every now and then too. And again, this is something that was never experienced until I had my baby Z

I could picture everything you were describing, makes me want to go out and drive now too.

be back later

-drew

ps - (Whole recount was great, but I had to laugh a little (not in a bad way though no worries) at this part

I was lost in the thoughts of just how perfect the night really was. I was also lost in the fact that I had no clue where in the hell I was.
classic!

It was awsome, I just kept turning left and finally found a road I recognized. Actually I stayed on the road until it ended and then went back to find my way home. I am so looking forward to more days and nights like that that one.

Cool

Is it a coincidence the word "ZEN" starts with a "Z". I think not.

Nice story! If anyone ever found a way to bottle that feeling and sell it, they would be rich beyond belief.
