Default I would like to get better MPG.

How would I achieve this in my car. I understand it's all about the way you drive but I'm sure there are some modifications I can make to give my car better MPG. Maybe cold air intake/exhaust/headers...anything else? Ive read that small modifications such as these can improve you mpg by about 4-6? Is this true? Are there maybe any fuel econemy chips available for z33s as well?

No mods will improve your MPG. You bought a sports car knowing the MPG it gets (I assume you knew), so now you have to deal with it.

in your dreams. driving habits will effect mpg. modding will likely lower it slightly - even moreso since your driving habits may change for the worse.

who mods their Z for more mpg?

no chips .. you can have your car tuned post-modding, and you can have your tuner build an 'economy map', but its not going to be cost effective or worthwhile in the slightest.

just enjoy your car, you aren't going to squeeze anything worthwhile out of it mpg wise.

Just get the "Tornado"!

The commercials say they totally work...

-or-

Just take your foot off of the gas pedal.

Headers and exhaust will absolutely improve gas mileage - anything that improves efficiency will improve MPG. Most cars today run a little rich to keep the cylinders cooler and to help prevent detonation.

What negates that is the sudden weight increase of your right foot when on the gas pedal after said mods.

Things you can do (close to modifying)

-keep your filter clean.
-check your tire pressure every week or two.
-Get lighter rims, narrower tires.

Probably not. Burning the gas more efficiently will get your more HP, but the same amount of gas will still be burned as before. The ECU won't notice that small difference in efficency. The Z already has a very efficient intake and exhaust, that's why it's so hard and expensive to gain more from pure bolt-ons.

Your second statement is right on the target. Mods (performance) lead to a heavier right foot in order to experience said mods.

any money you spend on mods to get MPG will be negated by how much the mods cost. So even if hypothetically intake, headers, exhaust and a tune increase MPG, for how much you would spend on them it would of been better off just saving in the bank as gas money.

never really hear of anyone buying a sports car and worrying about the gas. when you buy a sports car that is one thing that you should already know that you giving up is the best mpg.

pretty much if you do any mods to your car expect to be wasting more gas because you will always be on the pedal.
