Just got an up close look at the first Z to arrive at my dealer
The sales manager called me this afternoon to let me know he received his first "Z" (but it's not mine) sigh....
Sitting in the back of the lot was a Chrome Silver Track model. VIN # ended with xx0569. It was ordered the week after mine.
Very interesting.. I wonder if someone can explain the feature of the window dropping a 1/2" when you open the door and going back up full when you close it.. Does this mean you can't leave your window down with the engine off ?? I hope you can overide this...
I also took a close look at the side, curtain air bags.. There mounted in the upper, side bolster of the seat.. Does that mean the seat must be replaced if they deploy?? I don't want to hear from someone who found out the hard way...
I asked him a question... The car showed up on his inventory on thursday.. How long from the time he's get the notification before the car is delivered.. 3 days.. The car was delivered Saturday morning.. It must have been one of the 4 silver cars I saw on the back of the car carriers stuck in traffic near the George Washington Bridge on Friday evening..
I took a good look at the gas filler door and noticed it too was a bit off.. It seems it's just an adjustment of the hinge.. Guys must have made the car on a friday after a couple of rounds of saki....
This was the first close up for me other than the half track/Touring that made the rounds at the auto shows..
Now I'm getting excited.. No too many more long, warm days left in New York..

The window does that to make it easier to shut the door. You don't have to shut it so hard to make sure it closes. It has to do with the air pressure inside the car, that's all. From what I know, it is not overrideable.
