Bah, the attitude comes from all kinds of people, regardless of the car. Heck, the night I got raced by a Camaro, I had an E36 M3 try to race me. There were two rice boys in it, they looked over at me, I thought they were just saying hi, so I tipped my head, and they took off. When I didn't follow, they slowed down, and the driver leaned over to gesture for me to race. I never did, cuz I was looking for a place. Then again, maybe they wanted to race me cuz I had InitialD playing on my Bose.
One of the posters there showed his true colors when he talked about Z guys who don't even look over at him. Has it ever occurred to anyone that sometimes people don't look at you because they think you want to race and they just don't want to, for whatever reason? (It's probably why we get no love from even some other Z drivers sometimes.)

The E46 M3 is a super all-around performance car... but the reason I didn't buy one wasn't the money. I wanted a sports car that looked like a sports car, and not a 330 with a bodykit. Aside from the badging, the car isn't easily identified for what it is by the general public. A non-car enthusiast sees it as "another bmw" but the 350Z turns heads today even a year after its release.
So I plan to spend ~$2-3k on top of the Z's price, as a properly modified 350Z will perform close enough with 270-280rwhp, and with a strong edge going to the Z on a road course. So I got my M3 performance, sports car asthetics, and Z car heritage. Paying the $20k extra (on top of a $35-40k 330) for essentially a 3-series with a bigger engine and better suspension isn't really worth it for me.
I do envy the nicer, more quality built interior of the M3, but this is probably offset by the many service visits and price ripoffs on parts when warranty period is over.
So I don't see the whole point of this classification nonsense. IMO, the M3 is a car that demands respect. All around performer, but you pay for it. The Z's look is my preference, and i'm having fun building on it to be on par with a $50k-60k car for much less.

Can't believe someone there said :
"A 350Z needs to stay under 80 mph, because it's terrifyingly unstable to drive it any faster!"
and there were people said YEAH VERY TRUE... stuff like that
OMG~ LOL

It seems a lot of people on there are retarted or don't know what they are talking about....the boards i go on dtmpower.net, bimmerforums.com, i don't think anyone would say a statement like that....totally ignorant and makes no sense

Just got to reading that thread, while it did start ugly at first, it mellowed out at the end.
There seems to be a lot of respect though for the 350z from the later posters.

They just need to realize that they aren't driving the most superior car on the road. They are going nuts here about their 55k car, vs our ~30k car, about the build, ride, etc.. What do you expect out of a 30k car compared to one that's 20k+ more..
Out of the box, the Z is great, especially for the price tag, but it's a different car also, 2 seater, vs 4 seater. These guys need a wake up call, bring it...

Wow, those are the two hottest car-show girls I've ever seen... most girls I've seen are asians with incredible bodies but I always feel the need to put a bag over their heads (im not saying there is anything wrong with asians in general, I think they are hot )... but wow, these girls look like the complete package...
*edit... any more pics?
