Take your injen cold air and take off the rubber hose and filter that lead to the cold air part,
Put your filter on the end of the part that the rubber hose went to "maf sensor tube"
and now you have a short ram that will be Way more responsive
your plenum gets to 180 degrees, CAI's dont help that much

Thats what i did and i found a way to fit a super huge RC2 air filter
on it for quicker draw of air

you buy a peice of isht intake filter from auto zone called a specture filter
"get the big big long *** one"
you rip out the 3-4 rubber inserts inside"at the opening"
and cut off the chrome ring off the spectre long filter and fit
the chrome ring with the 4 inserts onto the injen short ram

then reconnect your negative terminal before you start the car

and feel the new throttle response and loudness

I haven't spent a dime modding my Z, and I enjoy owning and driving it just as much (maybe more) than anybody else.

Why turn your nice ride into a money pit. Just look at all the problems guys have when they start messing around with their cars. Who needs that? Put the money in the bank to cover things that normally go wrong or actually need doing on the car. If you take care of the car and drive is sensibly, $800 will go a long way.

Carbon hood is worthless unless your FI or aggressively track the car. The weight saving is 0.5 pounds and you have to pay another $400 for paint so you don't look the typical ricer civic.
