Big Dilemma
I have only posted once, but love reading all of the posts. (In an obsessive, hourly, interferring with career kind of way)
Got a call today that my dealer has my vin. Originally my touring silverstone was locked in for today, but it was damaged in transit so he found a replacement for 2 weeks after original planned 9/3 delivery. Today, with VIN in hand for Silverstone, he says late September with possible delivery in mid-October.
Here's dilemma: a chrome silver with nav is likely available within the week that he can give me. My options are same, but Silverstone without the nav. Thoughts? I'm hugely conflicted with this. Have never seen Silverstone or Chrome silver in person. Can always pass up Silver when I see it and hold onto my Silverstone slot, but should I be considering this. Any who have seen the colors up front, please give your input.

I have seen Chrome Silver in person, but not Silverstone. The CS seemed to change with the light, it looked like polished silver in the bright sun and when I saw it in the shade it looked like Silverstone. It's a nice color, you should consider it.
But do you want to pay an additional $2000 for the Nav? There's the big question.

Price is obviously an issue, but the Nav is actually a plus in favor of the Chrome Silver even when considering the price. Wouldn't be an issue if I liked the Chrome Silver as much as the Silverstone, but hearing that the Silver looks like the Silverstone in some light conditions/angles helps a lot. Doesn't help that DTM_Power is my cousin, and he has an opinion about everything and recently got rid of a silver GTI.
Any similarities to the S2000 Silver? Saw that on my walk to Wing Night.

I'll reiterate what I've already told you. Go look at the Chrome Silver. If it is something that you like and are excited about beyond the simple fact that you'd be getting it a month earlier, sure, go for the silver. Plus, Nav is always good. If the silver elicits a reaction of "ehh, it looks ok" then wait for Silverstone.
Nav is very cool, though
Silver isn't my favorite, but it might be yours... and after all whose car is it anyway? Choose the color you'll be happiest with. Try to look past which one will be here first and get the car that you want, rather than the time that you want.

Rather well written, Nick.
So, will look at Chrome Silver when available.
Bonz, the Silverstone was damaged before transit on land as far as dealer tells me, and he's a personal friend. He never gave me a VIN for the original and I never asked so don't know if he had one for the damaged car.
