Any other old geezers out there?
I'm a physician. This is my first sports car. I also did not want that porsche/mb/bmw image-- although I think those are fabulous cars. Just bought an LS ZR ENTH, and I am absolutely in heaven!
Turned the big 60 a while back. Bought a coupe with automatic, decided this was great but NOT me, sold it, and bought a roadster with manual transmission. Much betta!
I'm used to hanging out with youngsters too. Still ride bicycles (road and MTB), still road race bicycles, just completed a bicycle ride from Grand Canyon to Mexico (510 miles, 25,000 ft of climbing in one week).
Had to get that last para in so you under 50 types know us older ones are still active!

41 here. Weight lifters always like to "bench more than their body weight". Golfers like to "shoot their age" We Zaino users like to brag about having more layers of Zaino than our age.
52 Layers and counting.

Ok - Looks like I'm the oldest here right now. I'm 65 (not retired). I work for a large Aerospace firm, and I'm also a part time Apple Computer Rep. Love my slightly moded "G". BTW, I also ride a '99 slightly modified Harley Lowrider (hence my handle). My beater is a '98 Isuzu pickup (a Chevy S10 in drag). My wife drives a 2002 Camry (the only automatic). My last car was a Lexus SC300 5MT. I've owned a 944, TransAms, GTOs, even a Mustang Boss. My first car was a black 1950 Mercury Coupe with 3 on the tree (if anybody remembers what that means). I've never grown up, probably never will.

I'll turn 56 in March 2004. I've owned Z cars all the way back to the original 1970 240Z. I had a chance to bring a 1969 Fairlady Z back from Japan while on R & R from Vietnam but was afraid driving a right hand drive car would be a problem in the US. My 1974 260Z had Triple Webbers, a race cam and full race hjeaders and exhaust as well as Minilite wheels. Needless to say it was fast.. I had many laps at Lime Rock, Bridgehampton and Summit Point in that car. I sold it with almost 180,000 miles on the odometer. I've had my 2003 Touring now for almost 14 monts.. It's nice to feel young again....

After seeing all the posts in this forum from teenagers, I got to wondering...any other old geezers out there?
I'm 56, the new (2 weeks) owner of a 2003 Track Z (slightly used, er, both the Z and me ;-) First car that's mine since my '65 GT-350 Shelby Mustang (I'll rave about that car in the "vehicles" forum soon). Nismo exhaust on the way...maybe a CAI soon also.
I have four boys, ages 10 to 25, and we're all fast motorcycle riders (street, dirt) so I'm used to rubbing elbows with the youngsters.
A professor (Mechanical Engineering) of my advanced age and status should be driving a Benz (or riding a Goldwing), but nuts to that! Z cars and Ducatis (and Aprilias and dirt bikes) forever!
So...any like-minded folks in their 50s and 60s out there?

Ya know, I started to post to this thread & don't recall if I completed it!
Anyway, I'm 61. The Z is my first sports car. Previously I rode a string of street bikes including BSAs, Triumphs, BMWs, & a Honda.
After 35 +/- years without a scratch on me or the bikes, I decided to quit while I was ahead & put 4 wheels under me. Plus, I just fell in luv with the Zzzz's backend the first time I saw it. (I always was a sucker for a nice butt!)
I'm in the "land raping" biz, married, with two sons ages 23 & 20.
The oldest is trying to figure out what he wants to be & the youngest sucks up a bunch of cash as a junior at Cal.

.
One more thing, if any of you folks are from the SF Bay Area come out and join some of the Z events.

I am 40 going on 16.
Got my first car in 1982. (VW Rabbit hand-me-down)
Got my 1978 Camaro in 1982 (Heavily modded 5.7L V8)
Got my 1968 Camaro Convertible in 1987 (5.7 L V8)
Got my 1991 Firebird Formula WS6 in 1991 (5.0 L V8)
Got my Dodge Durango (5.9 L HO V8)
And now I got my 2004 350Z Roadster Touring and it has more power than any of the above cars except the heavily modded 1978 Camaro. Woohoo
Of course, when I was a kid, engine has CIBIC INCHES not Liters. And we had to change the plugs and points, and rotors ourselves. If not we had to push the car to the shop, uphill, both ways! Fuel injection was something only expensive cars. We had to pick ONE cam timing and stick with it! Kids today.... got it to easy..... <walking off muttering like a proper geezer>
