Default Recommendation

I'm an old Z owner, having owned a 240Z and a 280Z back in the 70's. Then decades passed, when I could only look at my dream cars and motorcycles, as I had to raise some kids. Now, I'm back in a part of life where I can have my next (and maybe last) Z.

Can't afford a new one and I'm not up to date on the newer, but pre-owned Z's. I have done some research and it seems that a 2007 Coupe Enthusiast would be my best bet. I plan to drive the car for pleasure, do normal city - highway driving, and take my other car to work, mall, etc.

I arrived at the 07 both from a budet standpoint and the fact that the 07's have a major engine redesign. Budget is $16-17k and I can wait for a nice deal.

Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome old timer Do you have pics of the 280Z? I really want one as a project one day.

If I was shopping right now, I'd be going for an 07 myself. You might as well get the extra horses if you can afford them.

There are a couple of other active threads on this topic though.

You can probably find an 07 with a better package (touring) for 16-17k. If your not afraid of a long drive or shipping, start looking up north, or somewhere that receives snow, as they will be going out of season shortly. Welcome.

Thanks for the suggestion. From what I've seen around No. TX this last month, $16-17k buys an average 07. Definitely, I'd like the touring package, but I'd step down a level for an exceptional car. Ideal would be a very nice 07 touring. I'll start looking further north.

Go for an '07 Enthusiast model, this way you get atleast the TCS and cruise control. If you're able to get a Touring in that price range all the better.
