The Z affect

Really though, its usually someone reving at me. Strange thing about where I live is its usually a truck or something strange, catches me off guard. A little bubble pops up above my head that says "seriously?" and one eyebrow raises.

I dont get tried to race very often but I do... its usually a Civic Si/RSX type-S. I get looks from Mustangs, Vettes, Porsches's, and etc, the general response is usually a thumbs up or a head nod.
Do you look at the drivers next to you when you want to race? cause even if i want to race, i just try not to look at them.
I usually laugh just laugh at them... I only raced once in the 3yrs of having the Z. A RSX type S tried me for 5 FREAKIN MILES... it was annoying as hell. It was 3am on a Monday when we got to a light, VDC came off 2200rpm launch and bam gone. He still wanted to run after I amtraked him by 4 cars, I just made a left and went home. I'm not proud of it b/c I came down to his level... but it felt soooooo good.
LOL yeah I just got another "Wow, I must be in the wrong business" when a sales guy saw me walk up to my car. At work all the agents make comments about how much money I must make, meanwhile the parking lot if FULL of high end SUV's LOL!
The Z is an incredible car, and even though most SUV's cost as much, they don't look nearly as good. The Z just screams sexy extravagance! But yeah, sometimes you feel guilty, like people think I make too much.

My co-workers always told me that the tail I was able to get was because of the Z. (back when I was single). One guy said, "wait till that chick realizes how much money you don't have, she'll be gone quick". Maybe they were right? Chick's dig the car.... Z effect..
I get quite a bit of hate from domestic pick up truck owners. It's actually shocking how many tailgate me, try to race me or simply try running me off the road. NASCAR and pick up's are god where I live. It's exciting not fitting in.
+1

I'm a janitor at a chool, so when the kids see me leave or pull in with my car they go and run to there moms and dads saying how they want to be a janitor when they grow up
The first comment I got was from my boss when I brought it back to work (Dealership) " Looks like we're paying you too much or you are selling work that doesn't need done" Neither of which are true, he's just an *** and he drools over any Z we have come in because he wants one.
The best comment was from a random guy sitting in his car at a gas station. My wife and I got out, went in, and when we can out he was parked next to us. He leans out of his window "hey man, can I ask you something?" "yeah ?" "$40 or $50 thousand??" "$16k" "DAMN you got a hell of a deal" I just smiled and got in and we left. Made me feel good that someone, misinformed as he may have been, thought I was driving a 40-50k car.

People never seem to know much about the Z from my experience. It's like a mystery car. It's like owning a Lotus and no one has any idea what it's worth or how it drives. I don't know why. No one ever tells me, "Nice Z" or anything like that. It's always, "Nice car, what is it?" or "How can you afford THAT?".
I bought it when I was in college and working overnight at a department store.
