The Z affect
Its strange owning a 350z. Perplexing really.
The reaction from children vs. some adults.
The reaction I get when people know nothing about cars, and they think I'm rich or something...
...and my favorite, a guy can't even relax. Everyone wants to race, and it doesn't even matter what they drive.
I've had the Z for three years. Its quite the attention getter. Some attention, you dont ask for or want.
I don't know, owning the Z is like sitting on a bench at Satuday market, people watching.

My boss said I "must have made a lot of money in my previous life." ...getting in my car to go home. Probably the best I must be rich comment Ive gotten. I just laughed... where do you start?

LOL yeah I just got another "Wow, I must be in the wrong business" when a sales guy saw me walk up to my car. At work all the agents make comments about how much money I must make, meanwhile the parking lot if FULL of high end SUV's LOL!
The Z is an incredible car, and even though most SUV's cost as much, they don't look nearly as good. The Z just screams sexy extravagance! But yeah, sometimes you feel guilty, like people think I make too much.

best comment I ever got was when my boss told the tire guy we deal with what tires I wanted them to get in. He said something to the effect of what kind of farm has a race car? Then told my boss that he pays me too much.

I bought my car on a Saturday. Went to work on Monday, and my supervisor (at the time) said they must be paying me too much. Literally an hour later, corporate calls from California (Sherman Oaks), and my big boss tells me they have to cut my hours 25%. I couldn't believe it! I will never forget the next few months. I picked up a job working 5am-9am prepping in a kitchen, drove to my other job and processed home loans from 9:30am-3:00pm. From there I drove to Kenpo and taught from 4:00pm-8:00pm. Go home, eat, sleep, and do it all over again. It was hard work, but I made it through and still have the sled.

The haters at work are endless. Everyone thinks I'm stuck up, arrogant, etc. Especially if you have a modded Z, the hate intensifies.
Funny thing is the majority of my co-workers cars cost thousands more than mine. It's just a perceived image of the "Z"
