Unhappy Got lucky last night

Went to the bar last night. While inside, I decided to go move my car because i didnt like the fact I was a foot away from the rail even though my nose wasnt really sticking out. Just as I got about 30ft away I saw an old beater try and pull in next to me. I heard a crunch but couldnt see what happened. Deep down I had the gut feeling he damaged my ride.

He pulled out and I thought he was going to bail but with the way the parking lot was situated he'd have to run me over to leave. He parked elsewhere and when I tried to confront him he tried to play dumb. I showed him what he did and he pleaded for me not to call the cops if he gave me his insurance info. He didnt seem like he was all there in the head so I assumed he was scared because he was intoxicated.

Moral of the story is the lord works in mysterious ways. Had I not come out at the exact time I did, I'd be out of pocket $500 for my deductible. Will I be allowed to keep my old bumper when its replaced? Its immaculate except for what you see in the pic of course.

I'd keep it and fix up the torn bolt holes. OR get some colored zip ties and keep the battle damage

find out how much it is to get it replaced and how much to get it repaired. If the insurance company pays for it to be replaced and you get it repaired, you might make a little $$ on the deal. Good luck OP

I too thought you were going to get some that night according to the title

you should still get a police report. he can deny the accident when his insurer calls him.

do not call your insurer under any circumstances. no need to subrogate as this is clearly his fault. should have called his insurer @ accident site.

pls take care of this quickly.

imo NOT THE WAY TO HANDLE THIS.

more than likely insurance is only going to pay to get that small amount of damage repaired ..

ive seen them repair bumpers with huge holes in the sides of them before (used to work in a body shop) .. the wonders of duramix glues .. haha

Same thing happened to me. Some 17-year-old highschool graduate backed into my Z. Her 1 and only license plate fell off. I kept it. She had to leave for Austin UT in 2 days from Houston. She needed the plate. I made her dad pony up the $650 to replace my bumper before I gave the license plate back. I would have settled for a piece of p00n from his daughter though...

listen to this and act or you may be paying the repair bill yourself.
