Be patient 16 and 17 year olds, there is plenty of time in your life to own some great cars without breaking the bank. Don't rush it, sometimes its better to dream of ownership than it is to own it.

 

I have one of two questions for you. What is your job OR how much allowance are you getting from your parents

The really funny/sad/pathetic thing about this is when these kids say "bought it with my own money", they don't mention that their parents are paying for food, rent, medical, education, clothes, cell phone, allowance, etc....

Kids, if you are living off of your parents, even if they just provide food, housing, and utilities, you didn't buy the car yourself! As soon as someone is living on their own, working and paying for everything themselves, then, and only then can they say that they truly "paid for the car themselves".

Kids, if your parents bought you the car, or helped you buy the car, or are helping to support you while you buy the car, just man up and admit it. Be grateful for their generosity and realize that a nice car is not an entitlement but a privilege. As you mature, hopefully you will realize that men will not be judged by the car they drive but by the content of their character (with apologies to Dr. King).

It is interesting to see the cars that brought folks eventually to the Z. Maybe that should be a new thread.

No, I don't think you've got it. You can try reading it again. It really isn't that difficult a concept.

The point that you seem to have missed is that it is only when someone is truly financially independent from their parents that they can claim to have purchased a car on their own. Until that time, their ability to purchase anything is dependent upon their parents continued support.

i started working since i was 16 lets say i save 1k a month for 3 years i still pay for my insurance, food, gas and cellphone. while driving the benz. now im 19 i work every day from 8 to 5 and go to school from 6 to 9 i pay for gas, cellphone, food, insurance, and college wich its very expensive, i might not pay for a mortage or service bills but college is pretty expensive and im paying for it. when i bought the car i did get a loan for 6k to built up my credit my dad cosign for me, now the car is pay off, and i do work very hard and sacrifice my self to keep up with my responsibilities and be able to say yes i bought the car the car is mine and show everyone the tittle with my name on it

I work for a Law firm which I make $32 an hour I also referee soccer at the college level which pays great. And I forgot who said prostitution but I am keeping that a secret.

Being a soccer ref can be a great way to make some extra cash. Tough job though. At the college level in your area, what are they paying Center's per game?

 

depends on level of college I since only being 19 am only allowed to ref junior and community and division 3 matches The sides get 150 in d3 and 190 for the center junior and community are less but still great money for a game. I also ref high school and other matches so actually It is very possible for kids to have money and buy stuff for themselves. I have bought 3 very nice cars with almost just money from reffing.
