i dont understand the point of this thread. personally, i could care less what others do with their money or how they bought a car. its their business, their money, their right. in the end, does it matter if a 17 year old drives a Z that was bought by their parents or if they bought it themselves? is understanding the value of money really important on this forum?

people buy the Z to enjoy it, regardless of age. in the end, its just a car, a car in a long line of automobiles that people will drive in their lifetime. i really dont understand why young kids are being stereotyped from the get-go. let them enjoy it, isnt that what life is about? good-living?

nah, i dont want to take the title! the crown is too heavy!

obviously, a lot of people here dont share the same opinion as me, and there's no point on arguing over perceptions. i just think people should try to relax and just enjoy their own rides, instead of bickering about teenagers in Z's.

The "asterisk of shame", as I like to call it, is awarded to those statements that need a disclaimer.

Usually when some kid says "ZOMG, I pay for the Z all by myself!!!! Look what I can do!!!" it means that's all his broke *** pays for. Parents take care of rent, food, medical stuff, electricity, water, cable, gas, insurance, school, etc. So in reality it really doesn't matter and is essentially worthless.

A lot of kids spend every penny on their car, they overspend and stretch themselves to the limit... hence the cheap, tacky mods and "can I use 87 octane".

It gets old reading it again and again....

So just curious, whats your idea of the ideal teenager? What should he or she be driving? Should they be moved out of their house paying rent working a full time job?

Not trying to be a dick here but I think your expecting well... the impossible out of teenagers.

I don't really care for today's teens to tell you the truth. I particularly don't like my insurance going up because of kids wrecking them left and right.

Personally I don't think kids should be driving a sports car period.

You know... i caught a hint of that in your posts.

But back to the question at hand, do you feel that a teenager should be paying for everything that he uses/eats/drives?

Don't know if you're read it yet. But a lot of kids on here lie and exaggerate about their incomes to make it seem like they're raking in cash through investments, corporations, etc... If you believe everything you read on here you'd think every teen makes $250,000 a year.

Just gets old reading it again and again. Guess I'm getting grumpy in my old age too. BTW I'm in grad school in Columbia, you ever down this way? You ought to come to some of our parties.

02 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
06 Nissan 350Z Grand Touring

quite the short list, can't say I really worked my way up being as how my first car was actually a little faster in a straight line than my Z is, however I am only 20 and I at least have always respected and properly cared for my cars, which is more than I could ever say for most people my age and older.

I totally get what your saying about dumb teens that come on here thinking their gods gift asking retarded questions. If i ever see a dumb *** thread, im the first to flame on the kid.

Yeah im at school up at Clemson and live in Hilton Head so Columbia is on the way up. I got a lot of friends at school at USC and im there a good bit so i might hit you up when im in the area.

Are you going to Kevin's (imonlykidden) thing on the 23? Dont know when the last time you checked it but they got a go kart track rented out and everyone is crashing at their place. Also have Motordyne testing their new XYZ pipe at the dyno at Cin Motorsports.
