sorry holmes. separated with a line number for TSgt.
besides most lifers in the military stay in for that long because they cant handle the real world...
to have things handed to them for 20 years is just like living in their parents house.
and since you seem to have knowledge of the AF, you and i both know that techs and above are worthless after 10 years anyway

How many times you been down range? What'd you even do?
Your last statement isn't true. I've met some techs that ride out their limit because they don't want the increased responsibility to worry about. Not everyone in the AF has a desk job.

Can they not handle the real world or did they want that extra retirement? Be realistic.

In my experience, I've seen techs and a lot of masters just sit around and micromanage their people. wont lift a finger to help their guys out while working their assses off working 12 hour shifts...etc.
I had bigger and better things to accomplish in my working career rather than letting some douche-bag that outranks me take credit for my hard work.
You must have an airforce tattoo...
I said most...not all.
Really? You said "most?"
Of my 6 years being active duty, I spent almost three of them deployed. Twice in Balad, twice in Baghram and once at the 380th AEW(you figure that one out). I was backshop egress and I was cut-trained as a qual'd crew chief on f-16s.

Lol Air Force tattoo. I wish... It'd fit well with these tribal designs and old english writing. May even match my TapOut and Affliction shirts.
let's list the succession of cars we have all had since we turned 16...then we can show all of the 17 year olds what its like to actually work up to and earn a Z or any other sports car...I'll start...
1985 Honda Accord Sedan (bought it for $1000) My 1st car
1987 Volkswagon Scirocco (fun little car)
1990 Acura Integra
1998 Honda Accord Coupe
2001 Audi A4 1.8T
2002 Audi A4 3.0
2003 or 2004 Nissan 350z....coming soon

Care to define a "large sum of money"? Not to be nosy but you brought it up...
probably an inheritance...
priorities will always differ between people. Preaching about "what should be done" doesn't really make a difference...
Understood that the thread is for "entertainment purposes only". However I believe that there is some anger and frustration coming from the older guys.
I think I'll leave the lecturing alone until I have my own kid. lol

I love the exaggerations that are assumed to be true on this thread. The younger generation is made out to be a bunch of toddlers, and the older generation is poked at for being 'old men'.
The harsh truth is that age doesn't matter. The typical 'youngster' that posts on here proves themselves at the least mildly irresponsible, and are typically creating a fiscal nightmare that any average-intelligent adult could recognize just by buying a car that they may be able to 'afford'.
So the big question arises: should they be wasting their money on such a worldly thing? Or should they be saving and going to school? The choice may be theirs, but honestly they can't prove they have anything to be proud of when they haven't truly accomplished anything that any mature person would respect.

Don't be mad because you chose a job that works on the flightline lmfao. I didnt make you pick your flightline job...lol.
I guess you failed to read the part about me being qual'd as a crew chief as well.
Ignorant people like you should be removed from active duty. And besides...based on your location, you're at nellis! lol...which means...what...1 or two small sortie generations a day?
Might as well be in the phase dock.
