Care to define a "large sum of money"? Not to be nosy but you brought it up...
I'm getting around 50,000 and unlike most of you "old folks" think I'm not blowing all if it on a car. And I also have money saved for collage as well. I plan to buy a used one and put the money that I have to into to make it what I want. Then the other 30,000 or what ever Is left will be saved for when I really need it.

Fair enough. Keep in mind that that figure is not a "large sum" of money" to us, although I will agree that at 18 I would have thought it was too. Of course at 18 I was in the Navy and have paid all of my own bills since that time. Curious again, how much money have "you" saved for college at not quite 18 years of age? That $30k you are banking wouldn't get you through a state college. But I suppose if you at least are getting what you "want" in a car, at age 18, then that is the least of your present concerns.

You might want to learn how to spell college before trying to attend it. I hope you don't really believe the 20k will build you the Z that you want.

I'm actually getting my business liscence and I'm buying a used one and getting a few things that I want then I will build it over time. It's probably by the best idea for an 18 year old to get a 350z put twin turbos exhaust and everything before he learns to really drive the car.

Not only did you have a hard time with "college", you have a hard time with English.

Love the 350 cars. The same thing goes with c5's, and c5z06's. Guys that saved 50K plus years ago, are now seeing teens buy them for 15-20k. Just a sign of the times.

Junior... Stop. You can't spell. You make no sense. Just walk away from the computer. Really.

Go back to the cactus farm. Forget about the Z, this site and just keep digging holes in the ground.

Your definition of anger and frustration is seriously skewed. Well, anger for sure, because this is pure fun. Yes, it's frustrating to see the younger generation be so mindless when it comes to financial decisions and even more frustrating to see see idiot parents enabling them.

I'm older than you and don't have any kids, but can recognize stupidity when I see it and love to point it out.

The harsh truth is that age doesn't matter. The typical 'youngster' that posts on here proves themselves at the least mildly irresponsible, and are typically creating a fiscal nightmare that any average-intelligent adult could recognize just by buying a car that they may be able to 'afford'.

So the big question arises: should they be wasting their money on such a worldly thing? Or should they be saving and going to school? The choice may be theirs, but honestly they can't prove they have anything to be proud of when they haven't truly accomplished anything that any mature person would respect.
Age does matter in the majority of the cases here. I would like for you to go back and read some of your post before you changed your name. You used to be " not daddy's Z" if I'm not mistaken and you came off as an immature lying brat. A lot of what you say makes some sense now, but it hasn't always been that way. I'm not attacking you, just pointing out that with age people do mature and become wiser.

Remember, you used to be on the other side of this argument getting your doodie hole loosened by Hraes.

I was really hoping that you would come back and say something along the lines of "All I intend to do is an intake and exhaust with minor body modifications", but like most kids you delivered in a colossal manner.

How much do you think it cost to twin turbo a 350Z with all the supporting mods necessary to insure it doesn't blow up in a week. Do you realize how easy it would be to go through the entire 50k once you go FI? Do you have the restraints to stop with the modding once you start, knowing the money is in the bank. Most kids don't. Are you working to continue to replenish the supply of money or will you just decide to have a blast and blow it until it's gone?

I seriously hope your are being sarcastic when you say it's best for an 18 year old to learn to drive in a TT 350Z. I have no problem with a parent teaching a kid to handle a RWD car with some power while supervising them, but for them to have one as a DD. That's begging for disaster.

I would also advise you to learn how to spell license before obtaining one, whether it be business, drivers, etc.

There is a huge difference between stupidity and ones own perogative. Just because you think something is stupid, doesn't mean it really is.

It is truly their own perogative as to what they do with their lives. Talking trash and belittling them doesn't really drive an individual to make "wise" decisions. It merely encourages them to do the exact opposite and fuel the fire.

To each their own, but not in this thread lol

Younger people usually think things that older people say are wrong and that they aren't stupid. Until they get older. Trust me, I was that younger kid. You don't have a full grasp on reality yet, because you haven't been living reality for a long enough time.

And who are you to tell me that I don't have a grasp on reality yet. You know nothing about me. I've been in this world long enough to know what the right thing to do is.

However, perception is key in this thread and it is skewed in both directions.

Younger people still have minds of their own and will choose whatever it is that they want to do.

Whether you think it is right or wrong is your own opinion

So you've been here long enough to never make a wrong decision. Wow, I'm impressed

LOL at your perception bs. Have you bothered reading this thread that you seem to understand so thoroughly? If both sides are so skewed then why does the same side always win?

My perception isn't skewed... What are you a youth minister?

You seem to know the difference between right and wrong. And you have an understanding that younger people have these minds that choose correctly.

Just thinking..........Maybe you should teach your wise ways to the youth of the world.

being proud about committing pwnage is for teenagers...not grown mature adults.

If you can show me some kind of proof that there are statistics pertaining to a 17 year old buying a 350z I will stand corrected.

lol no I'm not a youth minister. And when I say that perception is skewed, I mean that because you did what you think was the right thing when you were 17 doesn't truly mean that its the right thing for everyone else on this planet.

If you can read this thread and call the pwnage of these brats anything but winning, then you have the skewed perception.

No, I'm 32 and still find it to be quite entertaining

Is it really necessary for me to post what happens in so many cases when a kid gets behind the wheel of a sports car?
