Stop making it seem like it's one hell of a sportscar. I'm a fan of the Z as much as anyone on this website but seriously, stop riding its d1ck and treating it like its a $60,000 car.
You're comparing it to other RWD sports cars, not 90% of cars. I'm saying that ANY RWD sports car is bad for a learning driver. Start them out with FWD or AWD. For their own good. RWD is a different monster.

Up until now, EVERYONE is saying its one hell of a sports car in some way or another. Try looking at some older posts. Its the only thing keeping this thread alive for so long.

This.
Monster?!, Really. Talk about being a bit of a drama queen.

Everyone my age learned to drive rear wheel drive cars. There were only two front wheel drive cars on the market at the time. There was no carnage on the roadways. My brothers and sister and I learned to drive on rear-wheel drive cars and we all did well.

Some of you guys have delusions about the dangers of rear wheel drive cars. Maybe you have been watching too many movies. From reading your posts you would think that there are spun-out, rear-wheeled drive cars in flames littering the highways while all the front-wheeled drive cars navigate around the flaming RWD carcasses.

My daughter will be learning to drive a RWD car with a manual transmission. If you have a problem with this; deal with it. My other children have done the same with no drama.

You are the one making the claim so it should be you that proves it with older post. I can't recall anyone making a 350Z out to be a supercar.

That sucks, but at least you found the "bright" side! Should be warming up soon... Phil didn't see his shadow this year, right!?! LOL

Stop saying "everyone"....

Just because some of the more mature members here feel a rwd sports car is not appropriate for a first time driver/teen does not mean we hold the Z to some "super car" status. There is quite a bit in between those two categories and your assumed stretch of the truth is beyond ridiculous, almost..... childish?????

Just because someone is older, doesn't necessarily mean they are more mature.

I'm sure the mature 17-18 year olds that own a 350z don't post in here due to the fact that there have been immature and blatant attacks based on someones personal choice of what they want to drive or what they allow their children to drive.

I think those of you that continue to feel the need to lecture and scold and humiliate the younger drivers are the ones who are less mature than most.

But then again its only "entertainment" right?

It's simply an expression. A different monster just means it is a different kind of car.

Learning to drive a RWD, manual car is great. I did it as well. But it wasn't my DD. If it had been, then during one of those rainy days when I was still LEARNING, I might have had an accident. You're missing the point that the primary reason FWD replaced RWD in the more common cars was safety.

Anyways, I've learned that speaking to someone who talks in absolutes is like arguing with a child; frustrating and fruitless.

Let your kid drive what they want. But if they end up costing you or someone else a lot of money or pain simply because you refused to put them in something safer and easier to manage, I certainly hope you post about it.

My 1st car was a RWD 85 buick Le Sabre. I surprised the torque didn't rip the car in two. She was a monster...

EDIT: What exactly IS your point by the way? That the Z is an easy car to handle for someone who is just learning to drive? That RWD cars are as easy to control as FWD? I must be missing it, because you seem to be doing nothing more than thumbing your nose at people.

We welcome the mature 17-18 year olds into this post. You seem confused because you ask if its only entertainment, as a question.

It is pure entertainment. Plain and simple.

To the cop'r who thinks we all have a problem with him we don't. We have a problem with the fact there will be another inexperienced driver on the road in a car beyond their driving abilities. Thats the problem most of us have with the situation.

Plus I don't blame you for your decision... You don't appear to be the sharpest tool in the shed to begin with. This being proven first by posting a pic of your BMW and second.. a pic of your (minor) daughter. Why stop??? Lets get a family shot up next.

Ok im 18 and i just bought a 350z with my own money... been living on my own for 2 years and working for 4. Just looking at some of your posts anyone can tll that age does not have alot to do with emotional and mental maturity. This isnt my first car but it is my first RWD car and it is not that hard to handle.

OK, so you have been living on your own since you were 16. Not saying that is impossible, but it IS highly unusual. And what job did you hold at age 14? Just curious, but you brought it up.

To be fair I had a small landscaping company when I was 12. It was about 40 homes and yielded me @10,000 a year(cash). Pops put me to work at a young age to instill values in my life.

Your personal opinion towards my post has nothing to do with what I said. You're annoyed because of what? enlighten me.

What am I stubborn about?

Don't you think you might be a little stubborn too? You're stuck on the 350z being a ******* death machine for people under the age of 30.

Its the same small handful of people in this thread that continue to attack those who think otherwise.

I've been pretty mature about my posts, yet you chose to say something to try and put me beneath your intelligence.
