This pertains to the "17 year olds getting Z's" debate...
When you juxtapose hard-working individuals who feel as though they earned a nice car after all the years of effort they put in against spoiled little turds who get their stuff handed to them by clueless parents who probably never wanted them in the first place, you end up with a little friction.
Nuff said?
Some people are agitated that their $40k status symbol has been devalued by obnoxious little bed-wetters who now drive it because they got an interest free loan from their parents. The little sh*ts and their undescended ********* then come on the board like their hot snot and brag about a car they didn't actually pay for.

91 Accord (over 200k miles on the *****, ran like new)
84 300zx
94 Tallon (owned it for about 45 minutes)
97 Civic
98 Neon (yeah, we all sleep with a fatty now and then)
07 Accord (great car, but had no *****)
04 350z
I know as a 16-17 year old, I didn't deserve a Z or need a Z. Too much car for someone as dumb as I was back then (granted I'm only 21 now, and probably still don't need it). Never had mommy or daddy to buy me a car either.

I don't see anything that you have to be cocky and arrogant about. If you are basing how awesome parents are on how much they give to their kids, your parent really aren't so awesome. I bet your dad was too busy teaching you ball handling skills to have had time to hit you with a toaster anyways.
Get real people.
This thread needs to die. Going back and reading the op's post he honestly sounds like a sandy little girl. At the end of the day a 350z is JUST a car, and not a very expensive one at that. It's not uncommon for parents to spend $20k on a decent new car for their sons or daughters so If that car happened to be a Z why all the hate?
And save the "kids who get nice cars didn't earn them and haven't been taught the value of hard work and will fail at life" plea.I had many peers in HS that came from well off families and drove benz's and beemers to school and are now some of the most successful people I know.
Getting kicked out of the house at 18 does suck and I feel bad for you folks, and thank god daily that I don't have white parents.
Oh and just so I can play too
1. 1991 lincoln town car
2. 1997 taco
3. 2003 Ferrari oops I meant Nissan 350z.
4. 1991 Nissan 240sx

Most people hating in this thread are aged 20-30 obviously. With all due respect, sorry to tell you, but you guys arent that grown up. Most of you are about as mature as a 17 year old anyways. Many havent experienced much of a different life (especially people who are 20-25) than a 17 year old except that you have a few more responsibilities. If youre past 30, then you can talk. People need to realize some people have been given better cards in life. If you are really so old, mature, and wise then you wouldnt be complaining about 17 year old kids with a nice car on an internet forum... like really? come on, you shouldnt even care about that crap. Im not hating or trying to start a flame war, but is this really a topic of debate? Some 17 year olds work harder than many "older" people. Like I said earlier, the topic should be on young and even "old" Z owners that think theyre better than everyone else, you know, the immature guidos/"bad asses" of the Z community. And i didnt really mean to insult with the toaster comment lol Im just saying that some people have probably had it pretty damn hard, but that doesnt give them a right to complain because everyone has it hard someway or another. But in the end, the Z is just a piece of aluminum with an engine and wheels, and tells you nothing about the person who owns it. So lets all get real.
For the same reason I laugh when people get hit in the nuts. It's funny.
Some kid comes on here thinking he's special and showing off his dad's car and we all make him cry. You don't revel in the pain of others? Not very American, are you?

You make a good point, but odds are a 17 year old who - 1. somehow got a high enough paying job to pay for a Z while in school (aka someone pulled strings), or 2. got his/her parents to buy them a Z - is spoiled rotten. Every 17 year old dreams of a sportscar (or a horse, motorcycle, house, etc) and NOT getting one shows you how much those things are worth and what the value of a dollar is. I've met kids in college who never learned that lesson, and they had some pretty negative opinions about other [bright, top-ten state university] "poor" students who had to have financial aid. Not to mention people who weren't lucky enough to go to college at all.
If I ever have a kid, they're getting a 12 year old Accord/Camry/Altima/etc, which they will have to at least half pay for themselves, even though I am in a comfortably paying industry. My point is this: even if you, as a parent, have the means to provide your son/daughter with an uber-expensive toy, or the means to get themselves one, that doesn't mean you should. All that does is depreciates their respect for people who aren't as well off. I fall somewhere in the middle, being in my late 20's, working all through school, and having family support while still paying off my education 100% myself.
Either way, here are mine:
1. 1989 Accord
2. 1988 305 crapbucket Firebird (loved it)
3. 1997 Maxima
4. 2003 Z
