I am 20 years old and have been working since 15. I have paid for all my cars, but my parents help me with insurance. Insurance isn't much b/c I have a 3.8 in college right now going pre-med. I work 40+ hours as a supervisor at krispy kreme to pay for my Z.

I am 30 y/o. Wow, people seem to have driven a lot of cars in such a short span! Wish i was that forunate.
1. 1988 Volvo 240DL (the silver bullet, lasted to 240K before a thunder storm flooded the engine)
2. 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS (my college years, took this one from 30K to 140K. surprisingly, no real problems, just really crappy!)
3. 2003 Nissan Pathfinder SE (this was a lease, no complaints)
4. 2003 350Z Touring 6-SPD (bought this used last October, more problems from this POS than any of the other 3...replaced transmission, clutch, emergency brakes, tires within first 3months....good thing i bought the security-plus warranty)
5. TBD - sometime next year (hopefully a used Porsche 911 Carrera 4)

24 years old
1994 HOnda accord sedan (bought at 130k miles, sold 160k @ 17 years old)
1996 Chevy Camaro convertible (ebay $3000) got me through most HS and early college
1998 Chevy Camaro ($4000 ) got me though college
1999 Toyota solara (bought it as a commuter car because of acceptance into UPENN but changed mind)
03 350Z (well, took me 7 years to earn this car and all I can say I am proud )
My parents have never given me a single penny on any of my car payment or ins. I guess they wanted me to learn how to be independent. Actually as a matter of fact, I haven't asked my parents for anything since 1999. I needed $2000 bad last year which I could've asked my dad, but I took it out from my credit card... I worked extra hard and payed the loan off...
so, umm yeah, some of those 16 year olds that getting brand new 08 Zs from their parents , I guess you'll never find out how satisfying it is to achieve something on your own.... 100% pure satisfaction!

I'm about to turn 21, my first car was when I was 18.
'02 Nissan Altima 3.5L - My father put the down payment on this, I payed every payment and insurance thereafter.
When I turned 20 I found a great deal on a used '06 350Z, whilst it was automatic, the deal couldn't be passed up. Traded in the Altima and bought the Z last year and I couldn't be happier. Amazing car, amazing drive, looking to buy a manual transmission and do the swap myself relatively soon. My father was a car mechanic for 15years, always handy when doing something like that
