We don't care if a teen's parents bought them the car. In fact, more power to them... it's awesome to be raised in a very well-off family and not have so many difficulties so you can focus on what you love to do.
We just get pissed off at lying teens who feel the need to say they bought these cars themselves. If a teen comes out and admits it then we usually just leave them alone unless they are acting like they are the best of the forum. I am sorry, but 18 year olds don't pay for Z's themselves when they have housing and almost every other expense paid for them. But of course, every 18 year old on this site owns their own house, their own cars, and is working as some big time manager at a bank or at an engineering firm without any college education. Right.

My first car that I owned/purchased was a used 2006 redline enthusiast z. I drove my parents cars around all through highschool and saved. I lived at home and thankfully had parents that were nice enough to allow me to stay rent free. I worked hard though highschool, and when I graduated I started selling cars at nissan. After 3 good months of selling cars at a nissan dealer here in az, I was salesman of the month and received a decent bonus and some great spiffs that month which allowed me to finally purchase my first car. I am 19 years old now, and owned the car since november of 07, when i was 18. Don't get me wrong, without my parents teaching me good work ethic and supporting me through highschool, I wouldn't have ever had such an opportunity. Sorry for the long post, but nice meeting you guys and I look forward to being more involved in the forums!!! ![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

-1991 Jeep Wrangler Sahara;3,04, paid half when i was 15 1/2, worked at a summer camp the summer before and mowed lawns since i was 14. dad loves jeeps but after i slid into the middle of an intersection (was running late for school) decided jeeps werent my thing. dad recently sold (divorce) it right when i was beginning to come around to it. drove for almost 1 year.
-1987 Honda CRX Si; 1/05, paid for by myself for $1500, then put another $1500 into it (my money as well). still have.
-1993 Toyota pickup 2wd; 2/05, got a great deal on it, 34k miles for only $3500 dollars in great condition. again paid for on my own. drove for 6 months.
-2002 Acura RSX type S; 8/05, high school graduation gift from dad even though i got it when i started my senior year. sold the toyota pickup for $4500 and gave dad the money. loved this car, wish i still had it. drove for over 2 years.
-2007 Subaru STI; 10/07, stupid impulse buy, traded in RSX cuz i thought i could afford it. dad helped with insurance and a little of the monthly payment. this thing was scary fast, but school out weighed play, so i sold it. it was a hard $10k loss lesson. drove for 8 months
-2006 350Z enthusiest; 9/08-current, after i sold my STi my dad gave me his 95 toyota tacoma, drove that for a while and decided i'm a car guy. sold it and bought the Z with 15k miles on it about 4months ago. paying full payment with dad paying insurance as long as i keep a 3.0 gpa in college.
-i have had the privledge of driving some very nice cars and have taken extremely great care of them, no matter the vehicle. some of my friends call me spoiled but they don't know the full story. i have worked hard in my life and have had to deal with a lot of hardship and have taken advantage of nothing. i have had a stable job since i turned 16 and have worked my way up. just finished my fifth semester of colloge and am sitting on a 3.4 gpa while working 30+ hours a week with a full schedule. yes my father has helped alot and i could never thank him enough. some kids take advantage of their parents, i know a few, and some respect the help that they are given. just my .02 cents.
