Question Central VA Delay (???)

I know this is my first post here and i do not want it to be a negative one; but does anyone know why there is a delay in shipping the Central Va Z's from Newport News?? The first shippment has been in port for two weeks now and still no "Z". Delivery was supposed to be over the holiday weekend and still a no-show.

Curiosity is getting the better of me. Been lurking for some time, and i appreciate all the exchange of information. Nice site.

thx

Did you order a track model?

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....&threadid=4963

I simply don't understand the delivery system... it seems inconsistent, and disorganized...

PPW Touring Charcaol Interior w/ Air Bags, Door Sills, Carpets 6 Speed Aero

Another site said they were "blocked in" due to several ships coming in. Go figure... First shippmnet in; Last shippment out if that's true.

Default Mbeguy - any new info?

Mbeguy seemed to be keeping close tabs on the situation. Any updates for us?

Maybe the Aero package is holding things up, Track models inclusive...

If it's going to be late, then I really wish Nissan would tell me... I'm trying to prepare for my vacation, and I would really like to pick it up prior to my departure so that people won't drool all over my car for 10 days at the dealer...

I saw a car from the Newport News port yesterday in Baltimore, so they are shipping, there are now at least a dozen that have been delivered in the Northern VA/MD area.

Believe me...I am calling everyone I know just about every day. I am attempting to keep it to 1 call per day. They have shipped 6 down here (greesnboro - NC) that I know of and I expect alot more to show on the nissandriven inventory tomorrow. Delay? Well I know there was an issue and that they fixed "it", but I do not know what the issue was. I expect alot of dealers will be getting cars from newport news on the 5th and 6th. I hope that means all the cars in the first boat (21st) are to the dealer by Sat. But I have no promises or guarentees only expectations.

As soon as I hear something solid I will pass it along.

I doubt this is the case. I've seen several Zs in the NoVa area inventories that claim aero packages like this one at Browns Nissan in Fairfax.

Thanks everyone for their response:

Delay?? yes; prolly a little to harsh a term.....(being in the construction industry that word has many legal meanings) maybe a better term...."time consuming".

It just seems like alot of time is being consumed at the point of entry. Maybe they (DAP??) were just caught off gaurd with all the shippments that arrived within a few days of each other.

waited long enough, a few more days, weeks won't hurt. knowing the car is one hour east of richmond and been there for two weeks doesn't help me much tho.

MBEGuy:

thanks for your chiming in here on this one, and please keep us posted should you hear anything.

thx

Thanks alot for the info! My delivery date was supposed to be today, but since I have not seen it appear in the inventory, I am not too dissapointed. At least I can understand why, i.e., the "it" at Newport News.

They are moving.....

About ~400 cars of various manufacture made it to DAS today. There are quite a few Zs in this mix, I would guess around 40. And they expect more cars tomorrow. They are making loads today and we can expect those cars to be at dealers on average by Friday (a few on Sat and A few on Thurs). My car is now due on Friday, yeah! And Dr. Bonz, yours is not listed with DAS yet, but I will keep looking.

Almost here.....
