Just got a call from my source at Nissan. During the call, my insider wanted to go public with the reason for the production delay. “Certain tweaks are being made to the current design to satisfy complaints from external focus groups.”

Apparently the focus groups complained that “While the Z's current design offered a high degree of style and performance, it would appeal more to a broader audience if certain changes were made.” One of the focus group spokesmen was able to assist Nissan designers in visualizing the group’s ideas.

Thats car is the reason Bob Lutz has basically said screw the focus groups. One mans vision is always better than a comprimise of 24 people.

 

Yeah, but what if the "focus groups" are US? Jay said he knows for a fact that the powers that be at Nissan regularly read what we are writing here.

Well, I remember a thread that started last week asking what we were all going to do while we waited for the lifting of the July 3rd news embargo. Well, now we know - we've falling into the black hole of the media blackout, and we can't get up.

Maybe if the new threads and posts on this forum get weak enough, our Nissan friends watching us will throw us a few more tidbits to carry us the last few days until our "mystery gifts" arrive.

I have actually found myself doing work again (at work) in this void.

 

Damn, every time this thread makes it back to the top I see the subject for the thread I get all excited and open it again.

I guess old age will do that to you. Now, where did I put my keyboard?
