Default Is this 2003 Track too early to buy?

Hi everybody.
I've located a 2003 track model, with rare touring options (Leather, Nav.) for $30,900, only 6700 miles. The date of manufacture was 7/02. the VIN# is:
JN1AZ34E33T000811.
My questions are:
1) this seems to be an early manufacture car. Should I expect problems w/ transmission, feathering, et al...?
2) Is the price fair? It seems pretty good to me, considering mileage and the fact that it's a Track + Touring car.
3) Obviously, the warranty is still in effect. Should that ease my mind?
4) Is there a way to know, via the VIN#, if the car has the updated transmission, etc...?

Thanks in advance......
Greg

its all in your opinion...

My VIN is 5306 and I have feathering. My Z was manufactured in 9/2002. Aside from the poor paint quality and feathering issues, I still love my Z. No tranny problems here, but the Bose has been back several times for fixes--then I decided to finally rip it out to fix it, the tires have been replaced by Nissan, and the grease streaks and interior rattles have been fixed under TSB by Nissan.

My local Nissan dealership has been great to work with on any TSB issues or problems. They did scratch my front rims, and are repairing them in the spring.

If you want one pretty bad, I would go fot it...it sounds like a good deal, considering I paid ALOT more for my Touring. Make sure that you drive it and get a feel for any issues with the tranny...that could be a problem, but if that is not an issue then the price is probably fair.

Default Determining age by VIN#...

So, the car in question's VIN# is 000811(last 6 digits), right. You're basing the car's age on the last 6 digits, apparently. This would place this car very early, no?

The first digit out of the six actually seems to be an assembly designator and have found it to correspond with side air bags being installed. My vin is 100153 manufactured in 6/02. I had feathering, got it fixed. No tranny issues for me. If there is a problem then Nissan should fix it. That seems to be a fair price for what you are getting. It is basically a track with NAV and added leather. I think that the track with NAV was the most expensive MSRP combo you could get. The leather seats are most likely after market or dealer swap out. Being that the vin is 000811 it probably has side airbags so msrp was around $37,000 with the nav. Leather is usually a $800-$1000 option. It seems like a good deal to me.

If you can I would Spend a few bucks more and get a 04 car.
Nothing like a brand new car.
