Do you think an AUTOMATIC 350z is worth modding?

The answer is NO in your case, don't mod the auto Z. Moding the auto Z does not make it 6sp. You should make your own wish come true first, at least 1/2 of it by changing to a 6MT Z. When you start throwing money at the auto Z, makes it so much harder to justify getting rid of it.

lol @ telling him to sell his car and buy a MT Z (that's cost effective) I still lol @ people who act as if the 350Z is anything more that a sporty mid level car. Effing Mustangs are torching us these days.

This argument is deader than the Replica vs Genuine bodykit argument. Work with what you have and do what you can afford.

well if you have the $ to own a G and a Z. Then you have the money to swap the trannies.

I actually get asked this question quite frequently...
There are a good amount of modded AT's. I just hope you have the VQHR.
If you have the DE just swap your transmission so you can get the most out of the DE motor. That will be your best investment.

Good Luck!

To answer the question in the title; sure. Yeah its an auto and not as much fun (IMO) as a 6spd, but you will still see gains and performance increases, so why not.

Right now I have some bolt ons and tuned with uprev on my DE (non rev up) motor and im making 273whp. I plan on doing a single turbo or supercharger just for a fun dd, nothing crazy, but I dont see why you wouldnt mod it just b/c it was auto.

if you can't drive stick, I'd assume so.

trade in both cars and pick up the 370 M/T. that would solve the issue.

I have an AT even though I learned to drive on an MT and drove one a good part of my life. Got the AT since my wife is not to swift with a stick and wanted her to be able to drive the car in an emergency. Never regretted it. The AT is highly responsive and great for driving. I'm not into mods but the AT would be the last reason to hesitate if I was considering them. It is your car. Make changes that make you happy and not the 22 year old who thinks he's Ironman because he can use an MT.
