LOL@ ATvsMT thread......

I had an auto 350Z and it had full bolt-ons great car but the shifts did feel a little sluggish compared to a MT..... All around it was still a great car and yes its worth modding in my opinion.....

Auto guys act like you can't stay in boost with a MT lol. If you can't you need to learn to drive!

I get why peeps do autos, for commuting, traffic, palsy, you're crippled ok sure.

But when peeps want that and mods the auto idea goes out the window for me. No thanks. Do not fawking want.

One of the most rewarding experiences is rowing your own gear, occasionally WOT romps with clean fast shifts, rev matching two drop a few gears before corners on back roads, being connected to the vehicle, etc. If you don't get it, keep the autos and stay the fawk to the right.

what does adding modifications have to do with being disabled or commuting ? . auto z owners add modifications to there cars fore the same reason m/t owners do, to make them look better and go faster. I'll be ordering art pipes fore my a/t z tomorrow

well from what ive heard if u have a auto trans u can take off the oil pan for the trans and remove a part i think its called the idle body or something the name escapes me and u can send it into stillen and theyll rebuild it and send it back and u just pop it in and its basically a shift kit it increases shift pressure and changes the shift point so itll feel like a manual and the shifts will be faster then a manual

Nothing wrong with autos. However, just like Alberto said there is something about rev matching on a down shift smoothly is a skill that you don't have in an auto Z. An example when I was at an hpde at summit point I was doing about 115 going into turn 10. I had to get down to about 50 ish. Well I broke then rev matched. Felt absolutely connected to the car. Man and machine were one. You dont get that feeling in an auto.

The 350 auto doesn't blip the throttle or anything. Just another slush box trans. Again I have no problem with dual clutch autos such as the gtr. However a plain Jane 350z auto is just that....plain.

I recently drove an auto Z and it does in fact rev match upon downshifting.

Guys that think Im tooting my own horn in the description of the 6MT just dont....no, just CANT get it.

Until you not only drive a manual, but learn how to properly handle one, you will never understand. Ignorance is bliss for these guys

Alberto that's weird the auto Z I drove was an 04accident and it didnt blip or anything. Was this a newer one? That's weird I only thought the 370 auto trans biped the throttle.

I agree until someone really learns how to drove a manual its just ignorance that is very blissful.

A manual transmission is the last pure driving experience in motorsports IMO.
