I hate the dealers !
i took my z to replace wheels, coz of some reason i had to bring back the car home so, had them put my wheels back on. Come home and i see one of the lugnuts is so loose that i was able to unscrew it with my hand !!!

For all these F'ed up things, they have to charge so much.

Find a local guy, buy ur parts online and have them install n save money with no compromise.

the coolant thing was hilarious !!!!! $115 for coolant refill !!!!!haha

To be clear, the original owner was very open with me about the tires and brake pads. The clutch master is being replaced for free as the car is under extended warranty and I did all the fluid refills myself. The Air filter was $20 at pep boys and took me about 30 seconds to install in which time I was also able to clean the Air Box of leaves which the dealer was asking $115 for.

This morning I approached the dealer about the air box and he said he made a mistake and meant the engine heat box is filled with leaves and could be dangerous. I think he is a liar but has anybody heard of this?

I didn't bust about the crazy fluid prices because he still has my car.

The only price on the list that was less than 5x what I should be paying was the drive belts but I had Jiffy Lube do that because I trust them a lot more than Nissan Dealers.

What a shame, they really earn their reputation. I hope they don't break other things while installing the new CMC.

They ask for 5 stars in the survey, but they have all my info, is the survey anonymous?

I was not near my car but he said that if you look right where the wipers are you will see vents, he claims that leaves crack and slip into there then get wet in the rain and become a mess for the "engine heat box". He said you need to remove the glove box to clean it which sounds ridiculous to me because the problem is supposedly near the engine.

I don't think dealers should be allowed to treat customers this way. I don't know much about maintaining a car, but I am not an idiot and I do my research on forums like this to save money. What can we do to curb these practices? From a simple trip to Jiffy Lube I saved $540 off what the dealer wanted to charge me for fluids and cleanings.

i know what you talking about by heat box. Whenever i open the hood there are leaves and small wood sticks on there but i never knew it causes any problem

The only thing that could happen is that leaves/debris could end up in the blower motor which is completely normal and completely safe. He's making something up to save his *** cause "service writers are never wrong."

I have yet to have a service experience with my Nissan dealer, but I can only hope it goes better than all the horror stories I hear about it. Probably not. I wasnt aware that around 50K miles its time to look into new belts. My Z has 60K now so I'm gonna ask my dealer how much it'd be for them.

I'm a tech at a dealer and I don't like stealing people's money, so as for the belt thing, I only replace drive and serp belts after inspecting them and judging if they need to be replaced, I don't do belts by mileage (except timing belts.) Why replace them if they appear to be ok?
