pre-orders, old-schoolers, and twinturbo.net'ers
Do ya'll remember when Jay had this forum and thinking "my350z.com" is a TERRIBLE name...... but it was one of the only resources on the web for "the new Z car"... now the name is common place and not even questioned. I remember thinking Twinturbo.net is a WAY better quarter window sticker than My350z.com.... LOL
and then all the drama when Taka (or Taco or whomever purchased the site?) ... those were good times..... frantically refreshing the page for new info on the teaser shot that nissan released.... turned out to be a rear tailight/quarter panel.
Like many here in the past, I'm on one of many Z cars in my history, this being my 4th, and I'm hoping to get as excited about the next one. I'm also hoping for another factory forced induction car, while I love my 350z's.... the twin turbo 300's where my two favorites, possibly because I was in college and anyone that drove a supercar in colege can tell you... it didn't suck. (for those who just prepositioned themselves to hate, I earned it... while going to school and working, if you feel called out by the context of my parentheses, YOU are what's holding you back, not me..... whom you don't even know)
Anyway, just thinking back to some of the roots of the board, and people coming over from tt.net and what not.... before the 4chanesque flaming and holier than thou attitudes. I actually found help here today.... maybe that's what got me thinkin back.
anyway..... if your old school, let your freak flag fly. (no offence to those who truly make me look young, I never had a Z when pubes where stylish)

old thingz, the 300zx still lives on ask josh at z1, or rich at rdz300, parts are still being developed and are giving the 350z a run for its money at every road course, dyno and on occasion the 1/4mile
The site owner was the US distributor for CG, that's why you saw the ads all the time.

Man, so much has happened over the years. I wasn't here for all of it, but I definitely remember a lot of it. Things were definitely more interesting in the good old days...
I am a creature of habit and hated having to move from TT.net to here! I actually went back on TT.net not that long ago and laughed to myself about how much better this site is.
I started out over at Zcar.com, then came over to My350z.com. It was February 2002. In May, they moved to a new server or something so everyone had to reregister. I didn't reregister till June, though.
It was pretty cool 6 years back when everything was still pretty exciting. TT'ers ala Big Bri w/ the inflated numbers from Scotts Performance, Alberto w/ his cool vids, and 5xx to the wheel w/ this car was just insane. NA cats like Andy from performance were scooping up sales in socal and Status was the place for wheels for a deal. Helpful Socaler's like The Tech and Chebesto always had lots of advice and the hellaflushness was reserved for the chrysler 300's.
Then it went downhill when shops started to go bad and things got a little political w/ the erasing of valuable posts by members that didnt get what they paid for...and as soon as the site was sold there are so many advertisements now that litter the pages, I can barely navigate. But I loved it. - there was drama, bling, and some cool meets for sure.

I was not a member in the beginning, but a visitor for a while, but I sure can remember things in Post #18. And Post #4, yes I remember that too. Also I road in BB's car, which I had seen him at Scott's Performance way back. Yes things were really busy back then. So many of the ones I knew are now gone other directions.
Myself: "Long Live the Z". I'll always have to have a Z as it's been my favorite car from the beginning.
