I purchased a few cheap floor mats at the dollar store to help with traction when stuck in the snow, its been pretty helpful so far.

Some guys I now with 240s & Zs living up north each have two cars. Summer cars & winter cars. Just because some guys here can drive a Z in snow doesnt mean you should. The salt on the roads will still be horrible on the car. This is where owning a $2500 Nissan Hardbody 4x4 pickup will help. I think its retarded that people on here own 1 car, a D.D. Z with thousands invested but wont spend half or even a third of a turbo kit cost to protect thier investments.

Doesn't take much with summer tires.

Yeah....I learned that the hard way. Got stuck trying to pull in my driveway with only about a 15% grade. The neighbors got a kick out anyway.

Just bought an F-150 4X4 w/V8......something I should have done 2 years ago.

Good Luck OP

Default boy I remember back in the good ole days...

Remember those things called "tire chains"....I hate to think of anyone using them on a rear wheel drive car but I wonder if anyone has ever tried them on a Z. I put them on my old Maxima (front wheel drive) and I can go anywhere...

Snow tires are amazing. I DD my Z here in philly and went through a snowdrift that swallowed a Jeep Wrangler an hour earlier. In fairness, the Jeeps tires were worn.

I guess winter tires wouldn't make much sense in GA though...your winters are usually mild.

couldnt have said it better, i live in NY and i am one of those people with 2 cars for that exact reason. and your right about the people buying turbos and whatnot and not using there money wisely, i saw a Z stuck today and i laughed thinking how stupid he was if he would have just bought a winter truck with the money he spend on his rims and turbo.

Word. I rock a rusty 93 AWD legacy wagon in the winter up here, its ugly but it gets me from point A to point B safely and warm. Definitely worth the $600.

LOL!! i think if you rev-ed it up bit more, you would've melted the snow on the back with your exhaust fume.

If you have a set of snow tires, the 350z is just fine in most snow that doesn't impact the front bumper. The tires matter more than almost anything else. You shouldn't trade in your turbos for a pickup truck unless you have serious salt and snow in your state.

What bolt pattern are the wheels? You should not have a problem running the size tire all the way around.

You will run into problems with tcs/vdc since its a square set up.

Dunlop wintersport tires blow monkey *****. I have a set and I can't say much good things about them. Below 20F they turn into a rock and they offer pathetic grip. They're about average when driven over moderate snow depth. They seem to last longer than my previous blizzaks which pisses me off even more because I want these tires to die so that I can replace them. They really are inferior to my previous set of blizzak lm-22. I would not purchase these tires again. Just FYI.

As far as DD Zs that see snow duty, don't be a car snob. Given the right tires, the Z can do just fine during winter. I am not interested in owning and maintaining another car just so that I can drive it in winter. I bought my Z to drive it and I am driving it as much as I can. If it is snowing really badly, I just stay off the roads until they're cleared. You can't enjoy a Z if it is sitting in your garage. Salt can easily be washed off. After a snow storm, just take it to a car wash and make sure you go through the undercarriage blast to get most of it off.

looks like your traction control was on when you were revving since only one wheel was spinning.

trick is to turn off TCS and give it a shot when you are stuck.
